I might have a solution for you on that front. Are you using external storage mediums? I noticed files in virtual folders, as well as virtual folders dissappeared for me too when my external medium with my music on it was not plugged into the system. Soon as I plugged it in, they were all back.


I have been using only internal drives on two different somputers; one a laptop and one a high-end PC, no happiness here. Not sure why the "Team" speaks loudly on other issues and just seems to think the "database" has no issues, or never speaks about the progress of fixing the thing. sheesh. :)

Did notice abour 25+ files appreared tonight with missing BPM info after uprading to V6.0.3, without adding any new files. So, either the detection of unscanned files (or files not previously added to Search DB) improved, or the previouisly known problem(s) still exists.

I've noticed the improvements in V6.0.3, but I've more testing to do on adding files to the DB to see if the DB issues are resolved. (This is the area where I've noticed issues in the past!, I.e. <4 CD's at a time).


I'm not sure where "detection of unscanned files" has anything to do with it, as ALL my files are always scanned, database fixed, cleaned, and repaired; it's just that the scanned files become "unscanned" somehow and need to be rescanned. Oh, and I lost a virtual folder tonight as well. I'm still on 6.02 but getting ready to move to 3.4 if this stuff keeps persisting. :( :)
 
Used the new version last night for 6 hours.

Worked flawlessly. The scratching on the ICDX seems better than in 6.0.x and feels just a BIT like 5.2.1 but not quite.

Great job.
 
hello again my virtual dj friends! yes i just downloaded the upgrade 6.3.0 and it works even better with my ns7 just a few little glitches but im sure it will be fine! so the hater last time i blogged take that! i love this software its great! so all you video head try it out and yeah it works great NS7 AND VIRTUAL DJ DOES WORK TOGETHER GREAT! and i am totally video!
 
Thanks for the update!

I like being able to make sub folders from inside virtual dj, but what I'm really waiting for is being able create sub folders of virtual folders, so then I can organise my lists better. At the moment I have about 100 virtual folders in no particular order (Just a button to sort them all 0-9, A-Z would be handy too).

It's nice that the updates keep coming regularly, thanks!
 
Does anyone have a problem with "forced mix starts from the selected transition type's entry point"? When I use this to jump to a song further down the play list there will be a slight pause in the music. I've tried it on both my computers & it's the same.

Only seems to happen when the automix type will be Smart (will be:Tempo)
 
I use a laptop (compaq F730US. Windows 7 AMD athlon x64 4gb of ram). I've been having this search issue for quite some time. Everytime I search my vd freezes for a moment. I use an external HD, but i tried it on a friends macbook but it responds correctly, tho VDJ is beta for mac. any tips?

Could this freeze be caused from the power save feature of the external HD? Keep in mind after a few minutes most USB external drives stop spinning and until the drive spins back up you will get this pause. I notice it on my system but not so much in the searches as I see it when the song needs to load.
 
Could I reconfigure this? keep in mind it didnt give me that problem on the macbook. Are settings different on a mac?

This will fall on deaf ears... been round since 3.x

Another programmer thinks is caused by not properly flushing out the buffers. And will only happen while Performance is set to max.
 
Do you have key lock on?

I do NOT think you can disable the power save on the external drives, I wish you could. It would be a nice feeature for us DJ's that walk away from the computer to do something at a reception or whatever.
 
Has the update fixed kareoke files to be played now ?
 
I also get the thing of getting a split second of the previous, but only when I have both advanced master tempo and enhanced scratch algorithm, and yes I use key lock too.

personally I would like to see stuff like that fixed before Atomix comes up with any "new" "fancy" features..

and this issue has been around since 3.x ?? wow..

Yes. And I enjoy keylock (MT).
 
When I installed 6.3 on my Rackmount with a DMC2
It deleted all the mappers in the "mapper" folder..
I took my customized DMC2 and threw it back in the "mapper" folder..
but now i have two DMC2 mappers showing up..

How do I get rid of the "stock" one?

I also ended up with two keyboard mappers,
but I was able to get rid of the 'stock' one by changing the name of my customized one back to "keyboard mapper.xml"
 
 
@Hippydog: Check that you don't have more than one mapper for it present in My Documents\VirtualDJ\Mappers

The default one is built into VirtualDJ itself and can't be removed. However, any custom mappings you create will take precedence.
