Tópico: Random Pauses/Freezes in software

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi All.

I seem to be having a bit of an issue with my laptop and virtual djc version 5 that came with my controller (Hercules Steel). The problem I am having is during playback the program will lock up for a second or 2 once in awhile. All sound will pause and all actions on the program will stop responding (tables stop spinning etc). The only thing that keeps going is the CPU indication at the top of the screen and the timer on the top right. After a brief pause the program will continue on like nothing happened and continue playing the mix. The program never crashes or anything drastic, its like someone pressed a puase button for the entire app.

It happens with the controller plugged in and controlling the software, and also happens in stand along with keyboard and mouse only. The only time it seems to work fine is in windows safe mode. I coulnd't try it with the controller as it wasn't recognized in safe mode, but the keyboard and mouse seemed to control it fine without an pauses.

My laptop is as follows:

Lenovo Thinkpad
Celeron Dual Core T3100 @ 1.9ghz
2 GB ram
WIndows 7 Home 64 bit

I ran the DPC latency checked and after disabling the wireless adapter I was never in the red and barely spiked any yellow, so I never had any audio issues it seems I am only having issues with the program itself.

I have this same exact problem using VDJ 7 Pro. I don't understand but it's very frustrating for me.

Ok I have tried a few things, and also tried Deck a Dance and strangely get the same thing in tat software so it must be something else on my PC causing a conflict.

I noticed the software is not really freezing up, because when the audio stops and the tables stop, I can still scroll mp3 files in the browser and also press other buttons in the software so its just audio related

This could be due to performance issues with your computer - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/homepage/jpboggis/blogs/4094/Common_performance_issues_and_solutions.html

Register your DJ Console Edition serial number http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and download the latest DJ Console Edition: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

Download the latest DJ Console drivers and firmware from http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common_Device_Drivers.html

Another possibility is the jogwheels are set to scratch and vibrations are causing them to move slightly, resulting in the song pausing to scratch.

Thanks for all those links. I think I narrowed it down to the latency of the Audio 2 DJ ASIO driver. I had it set to the maximum of 16ms and it didnt skip at all, but controls were delayed a bit. I wa sso happy I could finally make a mix without having any stops in the flow. Really appreciate the help. I will have to tweak it some more but this is a big step. I was playin with the ASIO config settings before but never though to max it out like that.
