Ok, I consider myself very advanced in both DJ Hardware and PC Hardware and Software....
That being said, I am totally lost when it comes to this machine!
I can't figure out how to allow it to scratch a track while its playing. I read that you need to push SHIFT+<< and so I did.... nada. Also, I can't get it to play through my PC speakers AND allow me to cue tracks... I suppose I will have to go the traditional route and go from the unit to the line-in on my PC's soundcard.
Also, I updated the firmware like it said to, and now the right deck either doesn't play, only plays the 4th deck (and not the 2nd), or jumps/stutters forward. Also, as soon as I load a track on the left, the right stops dead in it's tracks.
I used to be an Official Denon DJ, and I have great faith in Denon DJ products.... but if I can't figure this thing out sometime today, I might return it and just get an NS7. I wanted something small that I can keep by my PC desk though. I am going to mainly use it for scratching on remixes, and for the pitch control when using a Capella mixes, but I would also like the option to do a live mix on my shoutcast station without having to go down to the studio PC and jump on the turntables.
Can ANYONE help me?? I am using VDJ Pro 7, the latest version (downloaded yesterday). I really need a step-by-step lesson, from start to finish. This has already started to give me a headache and its only 8:30 AM!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEAAAAASE help me!!!

after firmware update, you have to readjust the jogs on denon mc 6000
see point 11 in the manual
http://www.denondj.com/assets/misc/Upload_Instructions-v1002.pdf
and all works fine ;o)

Shift + << is correct (vinyl mode). The top of the jogs (inside the mteal ring) allow for scratching.

It took me a while to figure this one out to but it's possible using Virtual DJ's advanced config (so long as you're happy to use WDM and not ASIO). See my post in this thread.
As mentioned in the Braenzu's post, the jogwheel sensitivity need readjust after installing the latest firmware.

So glad I read this post!
I used it last night at my mum's birthday party and was scratching my head at the left jogwheel not scratching and the right one being normal...
Looked at the unit and saw that the left jogwheel was now set to -4 sensitivity and the right was set to 0 (default).
Now everything works fine. Had a lockup last night though... But can't say whether it was the program as opposed to the unit (it happened with no use of the jogwheel), the CPU usage went through the roof and I had to restart it all.

Had another lock up tonight...
Not sure why but it happened just like last night, no use of the jog wheels or anything much really.
The CPU meter in VDJ was constantly peaking (as opposed to usually staying around 10-15%.)
I could still use all of the decks with mouse & keyboard so i went with that til the end but still not ideal.
I will continue to use it and see if I can give an update on what triggers this, at the moment it seems completely random.

Yeah I did that. Even changed them to +3 and then to +4 again. I havent used the thing since I posted this.... maybe it will be better today.
I do know that I did do the SHIFT+<< thing, and I couldn't scratch while something was playing. I could scratch, but it wouldn't keep playing after I let go. So if I wanted to do a "ahh-ahh-wik-wik-ahhhhhh" I couldn't. I can only move it back and forth.

I'm having the same locking up issue with virtual 7.0.2. When I engage keylock everything locks up after about 6 minutes. I called denon & they told me to put the mappers to default settings, which I did & it's still locking up about every 35 minutes without keylock on. I do a lot of fast mixing & bang the hell out of cue points other than that not sure what is causing my laptop (fujitsu winxp 32 bit) to lock up, the denon mc6000 to lock up, & vdj 7.0.2 to lock up.My denon is 2 weeks old from guitar center brand new..
So is it hardware or software.
By the way I have used the hd25000, total control, hercules, & couple other midi controllers with this laptop & different versions of vdj & nothing like this has happened before.
