I want to jump in and buy one so bad, but I run VDJ, and I am leary as a few people have had issues with them.

I have an Old "Original" MBP with the 2.16 dual core 17" and max 2GB memory, and really want to upgrade. But, I would love to use it to run VDJ with video, especially with the new secs. They are higher than anything I have seen on PC notebooks.

17-inch: 2.2 GHz

* 2.2GHz quad-core
Intel Core i7
* 4GB 1333MHz
* 750GB 5400-rpm1
* Intel HD Graphics 3000
* AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5
* Built-in battery (7 hours)2

I would upgrade to 8GB mem. But these specs are amazing and they are the first notebooks with Intels "Light Speed" now called "Thunderbolt".

I will wait to hear the mac officianadoes to weigh in, and I think I'll wait for someone to get one, and see how VDJ works on one. If VDJ wants to sponsor me as a "beta" tester and pay 1/2 the price of it, I will gladly orer one tonight ;

Yes, I am excited too about the new technology inserted in the new Apple machines called thunderbolt. Apple company is avant-garde, they created the Firewire technology which was faster than the USB that they did not create but widely used in their machines back then which made the USB becoming standard.

The processing power on those new machines will be a lot more efficient to run videos and audio.

I just picked up a new Macbook Pro over the weekend.

15 inch
2.2ghz
4gb ram

I have been running it for the last few days with VDJ and my controllers (Dual CDJ-400)

So far the only issue I had was setting up the sound card configuration, but after playing around in the settings, I got it figured out
Other than that, it appears to be working flawlessly.

I copied all my music onto the internal HD and are using the USB ports for the CDJs. I just ordered a powered HUB so I will add that to the chain sometime later this week. This way I can add another drive down the road with all my videos

This is my FIRST Macbook pro, and I am extremely pleased with the results so far. Prior to this I was using a custom built rackmount and a Dell Inspiron as backup

My next big event isn't for another 2 weeks, so that gives me plenty of time to play around and really test it

I have been a PC guy since the beginning, however, I always fancied a Mac. Last August, 2010 I bought my first Apple Macbook Pro with quad processor and 500gb HD. Never looked back since.

For the purposes of DJing I have the Mac bootcamped with Windows 7 and use VirtualDJ PC version simply because of the extra graphics facilities available on the PC. I have the Mac version of VDJ installed too as a backup, but, never been needed. If there were the same graphics effects available on the Mac I would probably use that version.

I use the Mac side for everything else including going on the net (this is what I'm typing on now). Sure they are more expensive than PCs, but, very reliable........... and with Bootcamp I have 2 computers in one with the best of both worlds. :-)

I purchased the New MacPro I7 about two weeks ago it works flawless with VDJ. I have the new VMS4 controller. At first I had some problems setting up the VMS4 but after I completed the setup all was good.

You already have a thread started for this. Please do not hi-jack someone elses thread. Thank you

Now for the MacBook Pro - Yes I want a new one as well BUT I have a LOT of equipment that has to be paid for first. My current MB Pro is flawless but the new technology will make it that much sweeter. Hopefully by the end of 2011 I will have a new one.
