Tópico: Anyone know about Pro X Cases? - Page: 1

Esta parte del tópico es antigua y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I'm getting my NS6 in two days.
I have my NS7 in a Odyssey Black Label case. I'm not real happy with it because the bearings keep falling out of the wheels but otherwise it's a good case.

The Pro X case for the NS6 looks good but I have never heard of them. It has the glide laptop shelf just like the Odyssey case. It's less expensive.

Anyone have experience with these cases?

Don't have any exp with them, how low will the painted alu last? you'll be forever touching it up!

Since only my friend Chuck would respond...

I have ordered this case BUT I only paid $170.

I will let you all know how it works out.

Oh man, a while ago I ordered a case from them for my Mixdeck and it was total crap. It wasnt the thick wood like my odyssey!! I could have punched threw it, no lie!! I sent it back the very day I got it. The case was waaay to big for it. Even with the foam I could feel the Mixdeck sliding in the case. There was no way I'd trust my stuff in there.

Sorry for the late response
Huey

You can tell it's made of particle board, which will not last if your mobile...

Only had one case that wasn't Odyssey, its worth the extra $.

And there is no way in hell I would be rolling my console gear on hard wheels on anything but tile floor.
Kind of pointless to not carry or dolly it.
My lighting cases are like that and I cringe sometimes when they pound over door thresholds or sidewalk seams etc...

I'm getting the NS6 because My NS7 seems to be getting heavier and heavier every time I have to lift it. I DJ an average of 5 nights a week now and I use my NS7 Everywhere.

The wheels on the Odyssey case just ain't what I wish they were.

If I could, I would design a case that's light, strong, stiff with larger rubber wheels that actually roll over surfaces other than hardwood of flat tile.

I'm hoping this Pro X case works for me. One good thing, I don't have to roll it. It's carry only.

I should receive my NS6 and the case tomorrow. I will let you all know about the quality once it arrives.

Who knows. I may wind up getting the odyssey case anyway.

The case is only 27" x 18" x 9".
Can't imagine wheels even having a purpose.

I have the regular odessye flight case with the sliding laptop table ands beenngood to me. You must have a deluxe case cause mine don't have wheels on it. I got mine for 150 at guitar center I had a 30 dollar off copun if anything was over 250 pluse I found one one online that was cheaper so I also had them price match.. I think I did good form 250 to 169... The only bad I don't like about it is the predrilled holes.

The Odyssey case for the NS7 has wheels on it. The case for the NS6 does not.

I would build cases with REAL wheels on them. Wheels that can roll on more than just flat even surfaces. To me that just makes sense. Mobile DJ's often need to roll their gear over concrete and other unforgiving rough surfaces. I think the wheels on a case should be up to the task.

But that's just ME tho...

You can always retrofit the Mfg. casters for better wheels, there are tons of them available, That's what I've done, Bought a pair of Arriba bags for my 15" speaker top's and will have to change the stock casters for wheels on them eventually too...

I just got the Odyssey case for my NS6 and the thing is built like a tank! NS6 fit snug and will not move right at the start didn't need to modify a thing. This one looks like a cheaper made knockoff but hopefully it does the trick for you.

The NS6 in a Odyssey case is a joy to carry vs. the NS7..... one handed. And the 7 standing on end is easily knocked over, another advantage of the size of the 6.

Got the case...

It is not as thick as the Odyssey but should still serve its purpose. I'm going to buy the Odyssey case later this week. I will be putting the Pro X case up for sale.

Don't get me wrong. The Pro X case is a good case but I play out at least 5x a week so I need the proven reliability of the Odyssey case.

Send it back

I always inspect the craftsmanship of a newly open road case. As far as finishing and joints accuracy is concern, I rank all that I have like this.

Case Makers *****
Road Ready *****

Numark **** (One unit only for my Mixdeck - I don't know which company makes cases for them or if they make their own)

Odyssey ***

And yeah, I will stick with the black and silver color combination even with my future purchases.

(Sorry, I haven't seen any Pro X cases yet in my favorite music stores in Canada.)

This case is made by Road Ready

Marathon is also a good case.
They also support Virtual Dj at the dj shows in the states.

Road Ready are the crapest cases in the business as far as I'm concerned.

The laminate finish, the deep lids and the placement of the handles on some of there cases has led me to believe their budget cases.

For the best you need to design your own, work in millimetres so that it's perfect.
