Tópico: Best software to rip Promo Only DVD's

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I'm sure this topic has been discussed many times so forgive me, but I'm looking for a great DVD ripping software for PC. I'm using Mac Ripper for my Mac.

Thanks in advance for the help

For a while #1 DVD Ripper was popular. But I've never had very good luck with it. I also own DVD Fab. Would be interesting to see what others are using. Right now the only way I can rip my older PO DVDs is to rip to VOB. I've read that some then convert to mp4. The rip/convert to mp4 has never worked for me using #1 DVD Ripper or DVD Fab.

I've always use DVDShrink to RIP DVD (it's free/outdated but still works for me)

believe it or not i use the one that comes with VDJ. only time i've ever had a problem with it was with some of the older PO discs back in 05-06.

So when it comes to rippiong DVD...are most people just ripping and using VOB....not converting to mp4? Is it not worth the time to do?

I convert to MP4 using Any Video Converter

How is the video quality after doing that conversion?

leave it Vob, you don't need to convert because it works fine in VDJ without conversion..

well my only need to convert it to mp4 is for my other systems. I use the title, artist, genre, and year tags. With VOB, I have to copy the database file from my primary rig abd paste on on my DJ rigs. Which in turn does away with their cue points and other library settings. Having MP4s when I have to rip from a DVD would prevent me from having to reset their stuff. mp4 has tags, and that info can be inported when those files are indexed.

I use Hand Brake to rip the PO DVD's that don't already come in DFF. It will rip to mp4 using many popular codec's. Lots of settings but it is not hard to use.

I agree, http://www.leawo.com/dvd-to-mp4-converter/upgrade.html is AWESOME for converting music DVDs (VOB) to individual music videos.

And it's only $26. for full version.

The only shortcoming is that it doesn't automatically name the chapters, so you have to be careful to preview the first music video so you name them all correctly. Also, some videos have short chapters for preceding dialogue (talking, etc. before video starts). This program will allow you to merge the two if you like, or just leave out the prelude.

Note, if you need to also convert VCDs, then get the Video Converter Pro (presently $45). DVD Ripper doesn't rip VCD videos, but Video Converter Pro works great.

The Ultimate version for $80 also downloads (accelerated) Youtube videos... this could be handy for those hard to find videos.

Same as Magic DJ i use DVD Shrink. Works excelent for me. And is free.

http://www.dvdshrink.org/ ive had some audio issues with po rips but i think its cause of the track on the disc itself this has happened with older discs since i havent used po in ages

There are two GREAT solutions to all your video needs.

1. Leawo Video Converter Ultimate (I found a HUGE DISCOUNT coupon online)
2. YouTube Downloader Pro ($20 or free with TrialPay).

1. This software converts any format - FAST and does a great job! It allows you to EASILY crop the video (remove long talking intros... or long winded endings).
2. Allows single or batch conversion of entire DVD.
3. Converts Video CDs too (VCD), which was a popular format for music videos with Hound Dog, Promo Only, etc.

Here's the coupon I used: http://www.regcoupons.com/ads/leawo-video-converter-ultimate/

Pay only $37.58 with this coupon! Regular price is $80.

I tried several programs for downloading and converting Youtube, etc. videos. The one I now have that works FLAWLESSLY and captures up to 4x normal speed it YouTube Downloader Pro.

It's normally $20. but you can use TrialPay to get it free. For example, order 250 business cards from VistaPrint and get it free. (I get my business cards from VistaPrint anyway, so it's a good deal for me - was free).

These two programs are ALL you need to rip videos from VCD/DVD, etc., and to capture and convert video from just about any streaming service: http://www.youtubedownloadersite.com/supported_sites.html

Total cost for both is under$ 60. or under $40 if you use TrialPay.

You will be very happy :)

I use the following:
- Media Monkey Pro (to rip CDs, sort, convert audio formats)
- Leawo Video Converter Pro (to rip DVDs, VCDs, and high quality FAST video conversions, and also to CLIP or TRIM video)
- YouTube Downloader Pro (unlike the name, the product works to download videos from sites that include paid membership sites and other legal sources of music).
- Virtual DJ Pro Full (with premium subscription)

With these tools, I can find, download and convert video to any video source, or even rip the MP3 from the video.
