4-MX- Awesome for 4 decks, great sound and scratching, bigger jog wheels!
RMX2- Superior sound, xlr outputs & mic, 4 drum pads built to make your mixing a dream come true, scratching, the size of the original, powered by a plug and $100 bucks cheaper!
Both built to last, either way you can't lose, however if you prefer 4 decks and the bigger jog wheels then 4-MX is your machine. Now if you prefer that sound that'll blow away your audience and enjoy the process of creativity utilizing a power packed super upgrade of the original, then the RMX2 is your machine!
Happy Mixing!

Any other comments on which of the two is best? I'm seriously planning to buying one of these two and I dont really know if I will be using 4 decks (surely the only big difference between the two and why 4-MX is a bit more pricey)...
For a new version of those controller, is it the same discount when buying VDJ Pro?

If you wait till Christmas, there may be a new Hercules that you will want. Both of these controllers have been out for awhile. There will be at least 5 more controllers from other companies, that you will want. You should go to a dealer and try these controllers out to see which one fits you.

Hercules 4-MX is being sold a bit pricier than the RMX2, even if most of the people are giving the edge to the RMX2 rather the 4-MX. Why then the 4-MX is pricier? Is it just because of the 4 decks utility??

Sorry I missed that, drug flash back. I still think that you should try these controllers out, before making a decision. I also think that as soon as you get one, a new one will be available. They have both been out for awhile.

Certainly try them both out, but be warned, you Will love them both. If the size of the jog wheel is an issue for scratching, go 4mx, if not, go rmx2. Also rmx2 sound card is better and if you're looking to use this at clubs, rmx2 is equipped better with xlr outputs.

I just got a RMX 2 and so far it is fantastic. I do not know what difference there is, but if the features work for you with the RMX 2, then I would say go with it. It is well made, does not feel cheap in any way, and the one thing I like is it is heavier, the worst thing you want is for your mixer to slide around on the table when you are trying to perform.

I upgraded from the Hercules RMX to the Hercules RMX2 and I am glad I did. I also tested and compared the 4-MX to the RMX2 and here is why select RMX2:
- Better Sound Quality (96 kHz - 24-bit)
- Balanced XLR (Speaker and Mic)
- Less buttons than the 4-MX
- Velocity Pads (easier to use and it's touch sensitive)
- Metal Frame (RMX2) vs Plastic Frame (4-MX)
- Easier to DJ Mix (tried and liked both)
- $100 Less
