Hey guys,
I'm experimenting with using a Korg EMX1 live with virtualDJ. This works pretty sweet besides one little problem. When starting a deck, the korg will start/stop as slave, in the same tempo. However, it starts with a little delay, lets say 1/8 of a beat. This is fixable by pitch bending the playing deck, but it would be much better if all could start exactly in sync.
Anyone?
Thx!
My setup:
VDJ 7.04
Vestax VCI-400
Korg EMX1
Midimate USB midi interface
The korg is connected to the line in of the Vestax and mapped to be played as a deck in VDJ (awesome power there!!). Using the registry tool VDJ is configured to SendMidiClock through the Midimate midi controller to the Korg.

What answer are you looking for? :-)
I have the EMX1 too, but I've never tried running it from VDJ.
I did once try running an Akai MPC-1000 via a USB MIDI interface, and also sending MIDI clock to other software (as a test for another user) but I don't remember noticing any delay.
Maybe I could compare the EMX1 to something else for you, and see if it's slow to respond.

Hey Groove,
Sorry for the late response. Well what I am specifically looking for is WTF is going wrong that the EMX is not starting in exact sync with VDJ. It seems to start late, but with a sort of random delay, as if its not being reset to the first beat.
Its weird since cause everything else is perfect. Once you manually pitch bend it into sync, it will be locked on the track as if glued even when changing tempo.
Could you try? Could you try with another device that can be started with VDJ?
Cheers!

OK, I can see if mine gives the same result.
So that we're starting from the same place, can you give me an example of a track or tempo which you used when you noticed the problem?

Basically any track,
Any tempo, but working with speeds between 123 - 128.
I've made a screencapture of the thing:
http://mixes.soundsbyjb.com/test.avi
The green noise at the beginning is VDJ amplifying the noise, but from 7 seconds up I hit play for the first time, perfect sync, but accidental. I cue, replay, cue, replay, cue replay but any sync seems to be accidental. I do see, each play, the EMX1 resetting itself to position 0 so its not just continuing on the place where I stopped.
Good luck! Very curious to see what you find out! And .. Thanks!
