Tema: Denon MC6000 mk1 can't use WASAPI driver

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I get an error-message in VDJ when trying to use WASAPI driver for my Denon MC6000 mk1 saying "Could not initialize sound-card" or similair.
Just like when trying to use ASIO when unit is turned off.
What could be the problem?

Maybe you set "exclusiveAudioAccess" to yes and the Denon's soundcard is already used by Windows or another program?

Check your firmware version,
The first thing I did when I got my MC6000 was update the firmware.
I used to be of the opinion that the latest firmware was important.
Since the Denon buy out I'm not so sure.
I don't like the new Numark/ Denon driver for the MC3000.
I still use the old one.
I do mix things MC3000/MC6000/DNS1200's

Watch out for the 32bit/64bit thing.

I've never seen the windows drivers cause problems, not that I use them.

I have updated both mc6000 to latest FW, that's for sure.

It turned out I had to set the "exclusive audio access" to yes in order to get the wasapi driver to work.
The MC6000 was not selected as "default device" nor "default communcation device" in windows audio settings.
Is it safe to use it with exclusive audio access set to yes?
Everyone tells me I shouldn't use denon's ASIO drivers, even if I never had an issue with them. I just thought to try out wasapi a while and see if that takes less resources.

please set "exclusive audio access" to NO, reboot and try again with various drivers.
It is no secret that the Denon drivers are not the best in the field so far. But the other recomended drivers should work fine.

No, it did not work with exclusive set to no.
Windows are using the PC's internal soundcard as its default device.
The MC6000 is not used by windows. But still wasapi is not possible to use.

Would it do any bad to let the exclusive parameter set to yes?

just block some audio driver access in the worst case

For DJ use it's usually better to use it in exclusive mode, as you are sure no other applications will play sound on the device, and latency can usually be lower as well.
