so i just installed serato DJ (which i hate) but wanted to test out to make sure it was not the Denon MC4000 and yes the headphones came on blaring super loud. so it has to be in the settings in VDJ 8 somewhere please help....

please post a screenshot of your audio tab in VirtualDJ and the value of the headphone gain in settings/ options.
do the low headphone volume appear on every track in virtualdj ? is there a difference from the headphone to the master out volume when you listen to ?
( meaning is the sound of master out as low as the headphone ? )

well i figured it out. had to go into Options,Audio, (Headphone Gain) it was set at 0.125000 i moved it to 0.500000 and now the volume works fine now. thanx hope this info helps anyboy else who comes across this issue

0.5 is the default value. Apparently you had to lower that down in the past when using some controller with very high HP output or some other reason.

What's crazy is I never have.I never knew about that setting till I was having the headphone problem....

This could be set by a custom mapping, left from version 7. e.g. if you had Numark NS6, N4, AA MXR14,MXR19 etc in the past, it had a headphone_gain action in the ONINIT (which was dropping -4db). anyways, its good that it works for you now. Just offering some additional information for those who may read in the future.
