Hi all,
Recently purchased VDJ8 timecode vinyls, but still hearing the high pitched signal through my speakers.
Got my Technics 1210 (internally grounded) hooked up to the VMS5 (Midi-Log 2)
VMS5 Phono/Line switch for Midi-Log 2 set to phono
VMS5 mode switch set to 4 Out
VDJ8 settings as per picture
I can hear the music no problem, but also the high pitched signal. The high pitched signal is also audible when placing the stylus at the beginning of the timecode vinyl.
I figure it must be something simple that I'm doing wrong, but can't work out what ! Please help

Did you read this? It looks a lot different than your timecode configuration.

Are your Midilog Switchers at the front of the unit, set to USB ?

Thanks for the replies.
Read the manual, but there was no option to have the timecode at the top with the other ADJ settings. I only have one turntable, so have only one timecode setting in my set up in VDJ.
Yes, set to USB at the front of the controller

Click on the ASIO button in VDJ Audio setup you see below the timecode lines and post a screenshot here

Here's a screenshot from when I click on the ASIO button. I had not done this before, so do these need amending, or do I need to click "Apply" to make them active ?

Hello, ASIO settings screenshot as requested. Hope you can help !

Everything seems to be correct based on what i see in your screenshots.
Despite the fact that you also hear the DVS signal in speakers, does the Timecode control works ? So , do you properly control VirtualDJ tracks with your Turntables ?
somehow the input signal is also routed as AUX or not muted by the hardware since the Midilog are set to USB. Can you try deleting settings.xml from VirtualDJ folder and try again ?

Thanks for all the help so far.
Still hear the timecode signal as well as the music despite:
1. Deleting settings.xml
2. Recreating the timecode settings as per previous screenshot
3. Trying both sides of the timecode vinyl
4. Trying both sides of the 2nd timecode vinyl I have
5. Routing the music output from booth rather than master
In case it helps, here's a screenshot of my full VDJ screen
Any further ideas wolud be much appreciated

Can you reply to the above question ?
Do you get the timecode signal in the TIMECODE tab of VirtualDJ Settings ?
Also, in which Inputs at the rear side of the VMS5 have you connected your Turntables ? I believe it should be in one of the 2 middle ones.

Hi there
Yes I hear the music and the timecode signal. Turntable (I only have only, plugged into midi log 2 (One of the 2 middle ones)

And the timecode signal appears in the tab on VDJ

Can you try with the default skin ? Select the default skin, close VDJ and when re-open try to enable the Timecode again. Just in case the TC buttons on the custom skin have some action to enable LineIn or timecode bypass. even though it should be visible in Deck... anyways,
But really, cant think of anything else, sorry. Give a try and contact American Audio. There is a chance it's a faulty unit (some fault in Audio circuit)

Make sure your needles are set up properly. If you have too much weight on them, the TC signal noise will be much louder.
Also, I had this issue with my Z2 but figured it out by pressing a specific button near the phono/line switch. Not sure if your controller has something like this also. See this thread:

Hi all, thanks for the further guidance.
So I've tried a few more things, still get the noise:
The weight on the needles didn't make any difference I'm afraid, they were already set at zero.
Tried with another turntable (a basic belt drive which did not need grounding, either externally or internally).
Switched skin, couldn't find a setting on it like the one in Z2 screenshot.
HOWEVER used the timecode cd (VDJ8 version), no noise just the music !
It's probably something really simple to get the vinyl working, just can't find out what...…...
