Tema: Delay when releasing the wheel (when scratching)

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi

I am using Virtual DJ with Numark DJ2Go.
I have a little problem that you have a solution for.

For example, when pulling the jog wheel (disc) back and releasing it, there is a slight delay before the audio starts playing again.
It seems this only happens when i use the DJ2GO hardware - i can drag with the mouse (to perform the same action) and there is no delay like that.

obviously I want the record to start playback instantly when releasing the disc/jog so it doesnt affect the timing of the scratch.

Any advice would be appreciated

That is normal behavior of pretty much any controller.
Just give it a little forward nudge and it should sound better... than practice.

Not sure we are talking about the same thing, but thanks for responding.

It also happens when i nudge the wheel FORWARD. So anytime, while a track is playing, there is a slight delay before picking up normal speed.

When i use my mouse, however, to drag and pull back forward in Virtual DJ, the playback is instant, which is what i want

It could just be because it's a cheap controller. You can't expect CDJ-2000 performance from something costing a fraction of the price!

Could be, but perhaps it has to do with settings....

What Loco means is that cheaper controller lack the spring switch which sends Release midi message (whe you lift your hand off the platters or Jog wheels after moving or scrtching) which the software can then interpret that actio to "continue track playing"...i started with a Hercules RMX controller which would drag when scratching..afterwards i got a M-Audio Xponent and then the Numark NV and Mixtrack Pro ...these have the spring actuated switching under the platters...I am not sure if your controller would have that as it is "Low-end"...try getting a Mixtrack pro, works good...
