Hello,
I'm thinking of moving over to VirtualDJ from Serato, and have some questions here.
1. How to search custom tags such as Genre or Grouping? I think I can do it through Filters folder, but is it possible to do a search from the search box? By default that doesn't seem to work, but maybe there's an option or workaround for that?
2. Is editing tags only possible through Tag Editor, and is it not possible to load and listen to the track when the Tag Editor is open?
3. Can Soundcloud or Tidal tags be edited externally in some other program?

1 the dot next to the search box will allow various search fields
2 you could edit via script but in most cases tag editor is most efficient, tag editor is just a window you can load/listen as normal when open
3 don't know but I'd doubt it what with it being part of db.xml

1) search box option allow to select fields (dot right ot search )
2) tags can be edit by script, prelisten and play working independently - writing open files is not possible

Ok, thanks. To edit tags through a script, is that something built-in to Virtual DJ?

loaded_song 'FIELD' 'TAGSTRING'
those are the scripts but as I said "in most cases tag editor is most efficient" unless you're tagging specifics with a limited number of choices
