Tema: Crossfader glitchy, unmapping/disconnecting a possibility?
jdohooControlleristMember since 2021
Hey everyone. Title pretty well says it all. The crossfader on my controller is acting up and causing some issues during sets. I use the volume sliders anyway, but even the tiniest bump or thump on the deck is causing the crossfader to jump wildly.

Is it possible to "unmap" or deactivate the crossfader software side until I can get a new switch put in?

Thanks for the help!

Check the options and set "crossfaderDisable" to YES.

FYI this happens a lot on controllers. On some, the crossfader builds oxidation over time and loses its sensitivity, on others the potentiometer inside just wears out. In the club business it's not unusual to get your controller spilled on, and that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

But crossfaders specifically are usually designed to be replaced. You should be able to google search a replacement for most popular controllers and most of them are fairly easy to replace yourself.

Of course if you disable it and never use it again, no harm no foul.
