Hi. I keep all of my music on Dropbox. Dropbox keeps a local folder on each of my computers with copies of my music stored and synced to my online Dropbox account.
I synced Cloud Drive to Dropbox, but now I'm thinking it was an unnecessary step since all of my music is already available on or offline.
Is the purpose of Cloud Drive to stream from your online storage (like Dropbox) to any computer (which you may not own) running VDJ without without having to log into your storage account and download your music?
Beyond that I don't understand what purpose it serves

it can serve different purpose for different people.
Many people don't take the time to set up a correct synchronization of their music database using the storage's client, like you do.
But in your case, if you already synchronized your music and your database through the storage's native client, indeed the only other thing CloudDrive will bring is the possibility to log in on any machine without installing the client, and stream directly.
