Tópico: Is this VDJ, Nero Vision, My Computer, or what?

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Well, I asked for some help from the VIDEO GURUs but nothing. I don't know what is to blame for this. I'll tell you the problem:

I have edited some video from DVDs I own. Not all is music videos.

The music videos I have edited also have this problem.

I have Nero 7 and I'm using Nero Vision Express 4. I take VOB files and import them into Nero Vision. Once there I may (or may not) add a fade in and fade out. I then export the video.

My export is always MPEG2. I change some of the settings to either use DVD @ less than 3400Kbps, Sometimes I use the SVCD High Quality Setting, and Sometimes I don't adjust any of the DVD settings.

I DO change the Audio to LPCM.

The ending video is about 200 MB large (which doesn't bother me).

When I load these files into VDJ, they sound like CRAP... On my mixer, I usually turn the HIGHs ALL THE WAY DOWN... just to make it tolerable.

So, my question is, is this VDJ because these WERE AC3, or is it Nero Vision or could it be my computer? I'm playing back through my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card with current drivers and it doesn't matter if I play the current drivers, or the drivers that came with it, same problem.

I'd like a solution (until AC3 is supported) ANY Ideas? Am I insane?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe I figured this out...

Does this have to do with 48 KHz vs 44.1 KHz video files?

It is hard for me to be able to tell in my SONY Headphones when I'm NOT running it through my system, but in some videos, I notice that words with the letter "S" don't sound as bad if I convert them to 44.1 KHz as opposed to 48 KHz... can someone confirm this? Should I convert all my videos to 44.1?

MPEG-VCR does a quick job of this and I want to get this sorted out before I start coverting a LOT of stuff..

Thanks

That was a problem, using the AC3 Filter and Windows Media... I made sure I had current version (after I tried with WM9).

Right now I can't confirm 100% that changing the AUDIO from 48KHz to 44.1 KHz has solved the problem. One never knows until they pump it through a REAL sound system and all my gear is at the club.

I do note that some of the crispness in the highs are not their with 44.1. Maybe this will work for now.

MPEG-VCR has a nice and simple conversion that takes less than 30 seconds per video to change the conversion from 48 to 44.1.... you can also adjust the bitrate if you want.
