Hello Everyone...
First of all, I'd like to express my gratitude to the creators and developers of virtual dj....It's a fabulous program with so many creative possibilities....Thank you
Now.... the reason I'm posting.....
This has happened to me a few times....and it is a bit un-nerving to say the least....lol
I'll be standing there....groovin' to the music.....dance floor is hopping....then, suddenly....
The song will start to speed up.....faster and faster until it is wildly fast.....
I quickly start the next song(on the other deck) and slam my slider over....
The people on the dance floor just give my a funny look and I smile back as if to say....haha, yeah that was a funny effect...huh?
Meanwhile...the new song is playing just fine....people are dancing....but I'm panicking because the song on the silent deck is STILL racing wildly fast and I can't stop it from playing....
The only way I've managed to stop it is to drag another song onto that deck while it's still playing(racing)
Has this ever happened to any of you out there?
I'm using a Toshiba laptop with a Pentium-4, 3.2Ghz processor, 512MB ram and 80Gb hard drive...
Vitual Dj (version 3.4) and the Hercules Dj console....
Could I possibly need more ram? Thank you....If anyone has any thoughts on this, I would be very grateful.....Tom Tolnay

sounds like beatmatch could be turned on , of possibly go to configation tab/ fame and check the settings
offhand not to sure witch one but read the manual, maybe someone else could tell you the exact parameter and its correct setting.

Weird. It's not something silly like a stuck key on your keyboard or controller is it?

This has happened to me more than once. And in the middle of a set without changing a single configuration.
I've had to restart to clear it up, never tried simply dropping another track, but the next track to play on the other deck is alright. Seems to lock in the tempo up mode because I could not adjust it back while it was playing.
I kept thinking it was just something I blundered into some how.

So, do you have auto BPM enabled?

Does this happen with specific tracks and are the CBG markers directly under the beat? Some tracks do have tempo increases in them whilst sometimes Virtual DJ doesn't find the beat accurately enough and eventually it starts to slip.

something similar happened to me.
http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/43319/Bugs_report/Music_played_very_quickly.html?highlight=forward
ive had something similar when i'd accidentally hit the rewind or forward shortcut buttons.
i tried recreating the problem but couldnt. i thought maybe i hit both buttons but it didnt recreate it or stop it. maybe it involved Cue Points but i tried all possible combinations but it couldnt recreate it or get out of the bug.
only way to solve it was by shutting down the program. shutting down the program wont make any program saves like database or newly created Cue Points.
even loading another song wouldnt take it out of the rewinding or forwarding. Load a song and the song beginnings to forward or rewind without pressing anything.
but since this happened very rarely i couldnt count it as a real bug.

I had it once, with the Hecules DJ console Mk1. If the jog wheel is at a certain point, it will speed up, or slow down. If you move the jog a little it was normal again. That's one of the reasons I never use the dj console anymore.

I've Had This happen to me as well
What i do is pay attention and when It happens - I spin the jog wheel on the hercules ;
That was the only way i got it to stop it - it is an annoying problem.
First I bought the Hercules (used) and virtual dj and decided I loved it. But Hated the unreliable performance of the hercules DJC
Then I bought the pro edition and made a portable desktop system with a numark scratch mixer and DAC-2 controller
The DAC-2 setup does not seem to have this problem.
Poor Quality control with the hercules?
I am Very Satisfied with the dac setup and vdj 3.4

First generation of Hercules console is very unresponsive and have issues.
The Hercules MK2 model works great, and I use it at club for controlling VDJ.
Its super responsive, and have a great soundcard too..

dj-in-norway, why don't you have registered your dj console? Sad for the mk1 users, who will need upgrading, or have a unit laying in the dust (like me).
