Rename a file or add comment or change anything in v 3.4 then scan database.
When you open v 4 it should be the same but it is not. even when you
reverse these actions doing the same in v 4 scanning and then opening
v 3.4 it is different.
Example Song title "A" V 4 change to "AA" scan database.
Now open v 4 and the song title is still "A"Which is the same as before you renamed it.
Obviously I have both v 3.4 and v 4 on my machine.
Anyone else notice this?

you'll need an actual id3 changer. Program called ID3renamer can be found on tweb.

Nope that's not the problem.
In v 3.4 you were always able to rename a tune or add a
comment, then scan and it was there.
It still works in ver 3.4, the problem is that if you go to ver 4
and search the same thing you just changed.
It will appear unchanged. So if you use 3.4 and ve 4 on the same
system; you have to rename something twice.

You need to update the database file in 4.2. If the music is the same as I think it would be simply back up the database(user name).xml file and simply copy the database file from 3.4 and add the (user name) to the end of the file then once there make your folders and add to search database.

Yes you have 2 different databses I believe, the one on 3.4 is just database.xml and the one for 4.2 is database (user name).xml. Give that a shot and see if it carries over the comments. Just try one or 2 so you aren't wastin time. I think it will work as that is what I did to add the comment "VIDEO" to all my VOBs before the new skins with the little video symbol came out, now I don't do it anymore.
