When you have a song on deck A that is playing and then you put another song on
deck B; The sound for the one playing on A goes lower. Also does the same in reverse order.
ANyone else with this problem or have suggestions.

Soundcard: NVIDIA N force 3
Video: XFX GeForce 6800 xtreme
Processor: AMD Athlon 3500 +
2.2 GHZ 1 GB Ram

This only happens in ver 4. No problems in 3.4

Try to disable all VDJ features. Auto gain, etc. Set the sound card to Simple mode. If that resolves the issue, turn every option one by one to determine which one is causing the problem.

Nope doesn't change. Also there is no simple mode on sound card.
Unless I just don't know where to look other than in soundsetup

Okay here is another update:
In soundcard setup : output channes reads as:
1st choice
Master: front output/headphones: rear output
2nd choice
Master: Rear output / Headphones front output
3rd choice:
Master; Front output / Headphones Center output

It was setup as the 1st choice;
I cahnged it to both other settings and it now works using
choice 3 as above listed.

ANother update;
Using this setup you you cannot use the "Listen" option. It will not produce any sound.
Going back to original sound setup, you can use the "Listen" option.

Are you using an external mixer? If not, where do you have your headphone connected? I never quite understood how that is done.

I am using a mixer,I use the headphone pluf on the mixer to listen/prelisten.
Like I said though, everything worked fine in3.4. The only real problem I was having
in 4.2r was the automix and deletion of songs.

So, if you use option 3 above, master goes into channel 1 on your mixer, and headphone goes into channel 2 on the mixer? You have the crossfader "in the software" set to the middle? In cfg>options, set auto gain to always 0db. What is the setting of the sound setup in config?

A Man and His Music
Headphone does not go into a channel on mixer.
Soundcard has 2 output which go into the mixer (channel 1 and chennnel 2)
On the mixer there is a jack for the headphone. There is also a volume adjustment
on the mixer (seperate from the channel) to adjust the sound of headphones:
Crossfader on software is in middle. I use the mixer to crossfade between the 2 channels.
I can lower the volume on one channel in order to preview a song while one is playing on
the other deck.
The prelisten I use when I am at home without the amp hooked up.
As of now I am back to my original settings and it seems to be working.
Orig settings: Inputs : None
Outputs: external mixer
Soundcard: NVidia N Force
Output CHannels: Left Deck : Front Output/Right Deck: Rear Output
As you can see the settings are not the same as the 3 I mentioned earlier.

As of now everything is working correctly. Volme & Prelisten
I don't know why it wouldn't work before.
