hi
I've checked the codec section on virtual dj and there is no codec for the cdg. can you tell me where I can find this??
Also can I use my mac for importing my cdg disks to hard drive with this software??
when I try playing the cdg tracks it tells me there is a video error and doesn't show the video.
thanks for your help

CDG files need to be zipped with their music file to work.
They will not play on their own.

hum then they cant be KJ files then if they are avis , you should have a GDG and a mp3 file in a ziped folder for VDJ to work

Consult the KJ section of the manual for more info on this feature.

Sorted the problem
The AVI's do work as karaoke file(video file) so this is all good and probably easyer than zipping the files together etc.
The software that I'm using is power cd+g to video converter on windows platform.
thanks for your help though!!!

VDJ used to play CDG and MP3 files that were separate, why was this function removed and now we're only left with ZIP files as an option. We used to have both!?!

well...... if u have the latest version of VDj then you should be able to play cdg files, i was like you all at the begining trying to play them just by "drag n drop" but since there are two diferent files wich work together as one single file it just dont work like that, you will either need to dragg n drop both files for example: "i will survive.mp3 + i will survive.cdg" select both files and dragg them to any plate, otherwise just use the VDj explorer to find the folder where you have your karaokes and open them out from there.
i hope this help for you

This thread is over 2 years old.
VirtualDJ has no problems playing separate CDG and MP3 that are not in a ZIP, providing they are named exactly the same as each other.
They will appear in the VDJ browser as a single file that you can drag onto a deck as normal.
