I just bought a Toshiba X205-SLi2 Laptop.
I upgraded the ram to 4 gigs even though Vista only sees 3 gigs
I also upgraded the two hard drives with two 320 gig drives
Here are the video specs:
Graphics Engine *
NVIDIA® SLI Dual GeForce® 8600M GT
Graphics Memory *
767MB total: 512MB DDR3 discrete memory + up to 255MB shared memory w/NVIDIA® TurboCache™ technology
Question is this.
I put it in SLi mode and tried to make the settings output through the s-video output and it doesn't have that choice available.
when I disable the SLi it shows the option to output to multiple display.
If I don't use SLi I am lacking 256mb of video memory that I could use for video mixing.
Now...
I read somewhere else on this forum that "GaryBr" got a laptop with the pretty much the same specs & brand. But... he claims this:
"The 2 video cards I have in the laptop are Nvidia 8600M GT SLI with 512mb dedicated graphics.
I have them configured so one powers my laptop screen and the other powers the video out on my laptop and goes to the club screens. "
Not sure if anyone here has input or info that helpful on the matter of SLi and multiple display.

I think I may have found the answer...
This is from Nvidia's web site on FAQ's of SLi
"How many monitors are supported when running in SLI mode?
When in multi-GPU mode, SLI currently supports one monitor. When in single-GPU mode, users have the ability to use all of the connectors on their GPUs to connect to monitors using NVIDIA® nView® multi-display technology and Windows built-in multiple display support."
Not sure how "GaryBr" got his set up then... having one card for the main computer and apparrently the other card for the output to screens for video mixing.

I believe I remember reading that he said you have to disable the SLI mode and then you select 1 card for the monitor and the other for your 2nd output.
I would shoot him a PM

It doesn't have where you can select another video card for a different output.... weird...
I will try to pm him...
