Hey guys... just wondering if anyone knows if Virtual DJ can mix High Definition videos...
Ive got a small collection of .ts files (each about 1GB). The .ts format isnt recognized in VDJ, but if I rename them to vob they play just fine. Just not really sure that they are truly playing in their full 1080 glory.... my club is wired in s-video, so I know that will need to be changed to HDMI or DVI to make this possible. But before I go down that path....
does VDJ support HD?
and
Does anyone know a place to get high def videos?

Hiya, I'm pretty sure that VDJ will be playing it in high def. The main thing would just be the connection to the screens as you mentioned, but also the windows settings for the second monitor output resolution- obviously if you only have it set to 800x600 in the windows display properties, then your file is gonna be shown in 800x600 pixels (DVD quality- ish).

Ok, cool. So what is the best codec for HD videos? what exactly IS a .ts file?

Not sure what a .ts file is I'm afraid. If the files came off a blu-ray or HD-DVD disc though they will be encoded using the H.264 codec. If they're not already encoded to H.264, then I'd recommend re-encoding them to that format.
Here's a bit of free software that'll tell you about any video or audio file.

Once you know what type is it, we could work out whether you should re-encode them.
