hi folks,

i just bought myself a beamer and would love to use the video / automix feature of vdj. Playback of 4:3 videos is flawless as the whole automix feature just works very good. But there is one thing though. Videos with a resolution of 16:9 are squeezed to 4:3. As u can imagine coneheads don't look very pleasing :)

is there any way to fix it, respectively will it ever be possible to have full aspect ratio support?

thx in advance.

seconded this request - re-encoding all my widescreen videos isn't really an option.

using the aspect ratio set in the file is surely a simple bit of programming? next version maybe :)

This issue has existed for a while unfortunately. If you have ffmpeg installed, you can change the codec from VirtualDJ to Windows MediaPlayer default video. The VirtualDJ codecs are more responsive for some formats depending on codec however, so it may be hit and miss. Generally ffmpegs reverse playback is rubbish in comparison to VirtualDJs.

(You need to enable ffmpegs resize and aspect option)

Thanks for the info, I didn't know you could set it to use ffmpeg. As you say though, responsiveness is awful so it's not usable unless maybe you wanted to just play videos straight from beginning to end.

What is happening with this aspect ratio issue?

VDJ incorrectly detects the aspect ratio of some of my videos. All my videos are VOBs. It displays with the wrong aspect in VDJ with any of the 2 "keep aspect" checkboxes checked. These videos are displayed correctly in Windows Media player, Nero, VLC and the Windows 7 preview and information bar in Explorer, as well as on my MEDE8ER. I also used a number of utilities to identify the aspect, including MediaInfo (mediainfo.sourceforge.net) and DVDPatcher. I even changed the aspect with DVDPatcher, VDJ ignores the change, although all the other software mentioned above recognizes the changed aspect and displays it accordingly.

Can this please be fixed a.s.a.p.

Thanks
