Windows. This plugin is windows only at present.
It has no interaction with MIDI controllers.
MIDI devices I use are Ecler EVO5, Denon DN-HC4500 and PCDJ DAC-3.

Hi Scott
I am trying to install plugins and get an error message "Software not found" .I have the latest version of Virtual DJ and latest freestyler Beta. I have read your old topic and installed all the recommended C++ runtimes and directx stuff. I was able to install your notepad, scroll text and slideshow plugins. but when i try to install the freestyler plugin, show logo and CountDown Plugin i get the error message "software not found". I have tried uninstalling VDJ and reinstalling it as suggested in a nother topic and no help. Any advice?

It's a small bug due to the new sioftware installer. Until Team fix it, there is a workaround. Read more here http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/144671/General_Discussion/Skins__Effects__etc__saying_VirtualDJ_is_not_installed.html

Thank You djdad. I have applied the changes as per your recommendations and i was able to install all the plugins except the Freestyler plugin. When i open it it does nothing. No error message or anything. I have downloaded it several times. Any advice.

Okay got it installed. Not sure what the problem was but it is now showing under the others tab. I think there was a problem when downloading the file. Thanks for te help and when will the other versions be released?

I can see 'dmx_???' in action-list of midi config.
I assigned some total control's button to dmx_strobe etc... connecting lights via ENTTEC USB OPEN and running freestyler, but lights didn't move at all.
With this midi config, can we move lights manually without freestyler plugin?

thats a remnant of a code that apparently never worked, and it was only for a specific usb converter,, can't remember the name of it off hand, but anyway the code doesn't work, and it is debatable whether it even worked at all.

It functions when I choose PASS-BEAT, but if this option is unselected: no reaction in Freestyler.
My biggest wish was to have these cue-functions as You thought about earlier.
for instance:
cue1: "call freestyler cue 1 REDLIGHT"
cue2: "call freestyler cue 4 ..."
This was an easy way to change freestyler-programms from VDJ - Another challenge of this great programm.
SBDJ: I think it would´nt be no problem for You to solve this would it?

Does anyone know how to make a cue-sequence go in half / quater / double Tempo?
This is needed, cause the beat function of S2L gives just one Rhythm - Quaters.

The released plugin just does the S2L function - so if you don't pass the beats to FS then you'll get no reaction ;)

Awesome! Could you please eventually expand this into a general cue events plugin? Cue Event triggers used to exist before but disappeared when they introduced VDJScript. It would be useful for so many things! Eg, I could have VDJ automatically switch between videos at a certain trigger so I don't have to distract my attention away from the music to do that. If you're creating triggers for lights, you may as well create them for VDJScript commands in general :)

When I imagine a song-defined Lightshow - it´s so artificial and creativ!
the Song-Intro changes some smooth light scenes.
In the first Refrain the changes become quicker.
the break brings us a blackout and in the song-bridge the strobo-effect starts.
Everything ends with a nice fade down of all lights.
Isn´t this lovely?
I swear: If You manage this I´ll be on my knees and praise You. :-)
The simple Request for the actual Plugin is:
Now theres a S2L Signal on every beat.
How about just passing every FIRST BEAT (of corse as an additional feature)
We would get much more flexibility in changing sequence-steps.
With Every-Beat-Signals there is f.i. no time to fade something.
If Your genius Plugin "talks" to freestyler just ones a bar or 2/4/8 bars...
We could change the tempo of lightchanging by shortcuts
Ones again:
People like You, programming innovative Plugins are needed for VDJ
Everybody talks about Ableton Live, ... I think, with all this great features and developes in VDJ
to sit on the right horse.

The cue thing can already do exactly what you describe. I've just got to do some stability testing on it.
As for the passing the 1st beat instead of every beat - I actually use a variant of this plugin with my own DMX application that passes a different signal for the 1st beat, so would be easy to make it just send optionally on the first beat.
