I have been spinning for well over a year and have a local residency at a local skating rink. I like it because I get to spin all the old freestyle stuff I want. The problem is every DJ name I think of is taken. Any help is appreciated. Also is there any tutorials on making skins. I have been search the skin forums and you guys that make the skins are awesome. Everyone one here and at tech support have been great. It pays to be a licensed user.

how about "DJ Skaytaboy" or just plain "DJ Skayta" suppose "DJ Ice" has already ready been nabbed...
 
names are easy :) i have been an mc (rapper) and a dancer (breaker) i came up with names for each of my persona's and form my crew ect.... sometimes you just have to wait my dj name DJ SirKitBreaker came from an ll cool jay song 'droppin em' the line was eatting up the world acher by acher my nick names the circuit breaker. I was realling into punisher the dj for sir mix a lot when i entered a battle a guitar center so i came up with that name and constructed a battle intro with that phrase. the was also so much to play of thet name samples like 'but you can call me sir or mister'

so to start i would make a durivitive of your name like if your name is mike williams -- dj M-will --- dj MikeW ---mike the dj ----dj will-M ect
 
There are plenty of DJs that give themselves their DJ name, but
It is common to have your DJ name given to you by your crowd or for you to create a DJ name from that something your crowd already calls you.
Try to recall that something and then get creative with those ideas.

It's always interesting to hear how a DJ came up with his DJ Name.

i think we already had a topic about how u got you own dj name..hmm my nick name wuz given by my homiezz..so i just added sj in front and wala DJ TELEY!!!!
 
D' ICEBREAKER ---- Cool!removing the dj before the name is something different. Wish I could edit my own...
 
or you could just do something completely radical and just be you.
at work i just use an initial - J
on my timecard where it says "Position" i put "J"
i've been the J for years and no one but the boss and maybe the manager know my real name. this is a good thing. they can't look me up in the phone book at 4 or 5am...
 
I never had DJ before my name, I guess its personal preference, but I just prefer not too.

But I am greedy and have 2 aliases (depends what I am playing)

I used to be in the forces and was the ONLY DJ in Afghanistan on new years 2001/2002. (nothing like a captive audience for 600 hairy assed squaddies) So my first one came from my already existing nickname DEV.

second one is for home... I had a latin tattoo on my stomach after one hideous break-up. And played some dark dark stuff for a year or two, which built up a following, so my next name came from that tattoo - DETRIMENTUM

As for finding your own, keep it personal, and if you can steer clear of using your name, if you ever make it famous like armin van burren, tiesto etc... you know the names, but would you know if you were sat next to them on a plane?

keep some anonimity....it could come in handy, you pull a bird, take her back to yours...she asks what you do? "actually sweetheart i am (insert name here)

watch her pants fall off.

i mever had that dj in ront of myname its kinda old and when u look at it sound kinda siliy DJ this Dj That..tiesto was dj-tiesto until a year a go or 2--and if u look at it no FAMOUS dj has a DJ in front of his name
ex
--david gueta-tillwes-FEDDE LE GRAND and so on ...Myname is Mario.M and me and my friend Mr.Mislav and we have a colectiv name called MISSMATCH--THE MISS IS THE REAL NAME OF MR.MISLAV CALEDD-MISLAV STUNKOVICH MATCH IS MY MARIO MIJATOVICH kinda hard but it just falls in it dont wory u will find somethin

thats actually not true..... dj am djp dj scene ect all all the rest we are just lazy and dont say dj....ztrip is dj ztrip, roc raida is dj roc raida, a-trak is dj a-trak.... when i am introduced at a club they say sir kit breaker i am still dj sirkitbreaker
