Did you install DirectX from Microsoft before using Virtual DJ?

that might indicate that you have disconnected something that you were previously using with VDJ. I got that whenever I start VDJ without first plugging in my XP-10.

I got the same message DINPUT8.dll missing. Please clarify the solution. Do I have to re-download direct X from microsoft?

Yes, the DINPUT8.dll is a .dll from DirectX
Btw, Virtual DJ use some Direct X .dll to run, so be sure you have the last version of Direct X installed

Check to be sure that all devices that VDJ was using when it was last shut down are properly attached.
