Basically this is gna be hard to explain so ill try and explain in as much detail as i cann
might be some read so im sorry ;D!
I have virtual DJ, and have downloaded and burned the timecoded CD
as a sound card i have the Novation Xio(synth) midi controller that has an intergrated ASIO sound card
i plug this in and its recognised by the software as an ASIO device
so i put my TC cd into my cd player and plugged it into the xio
pressed play, and the record (virtual record onb screeen) just like stutters around and in the headphones i just here distortion and white noise type sound
the cd plays fine on my cd player (i can see it couting at a normal speed) but on the software it tries to start playing the mp3 but then just goes back to the start and jumps around?
anyone any ideas?
OH and also, i only have 1 cd player in but i cant seem to play deck b it seems to think im going to timecode control both decks how can i enable deck for for general use

What you are using as sound card will not work for time code. You need to get a Audio 8, Maya USB 44, M-audio connetivity, and there are few other out there that will work Also review this http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/76267/Hardware_Technical_Support/TCV_TCCD_Setup_Manual.html

The problem is that the inputs on that unit are not designed for this type of use.
That unit has an XLR (Mic Level) and 1/4" (Line Level) as the 2 inputs.
From the manual --
"To record audio to your sequencer, a microphone (Input 1), line-level or instrument (e.g. guitar) signal (Input
2) needs to be connected to the rear panel."
To do timecodes in VirtualDJ, you need to use a stereo (L+R) input. You can not achieve such an input with this device as the Xio has 2 different levels of input (Mic and Line).

i have zeroooo money to buy a soundcard at the moment! like less than £20 (UK) is all i have <.<

Well before you buy a sound card ... I would consider buying a license for VirtualDJ and not use the warez version you currently have.

well shudnt thexio work seeing as isnt the jack input basically just a combined L+R?
seeing as my cd players is putting out L+R and my cable just coverts into one stereo in?

basically (really bad quality in sound recorder but yeah)
you can hear the song at the start thats normal, then you can hear a high pitched screach come in, that is when i turn my volume up on my cd player (the cd is playing) but the cimecode light/button in virtualDJ omn the deck is currently off
then when the sound goes really off and akl jumpy and silly is what happens when i press the little light/button to activate timecode control

we understand what you are saying, what cstoll is saying is that acording to the specs of the xio it will not work because the the left and right channels must be separate inputs, in a nutshell...
