There is no trial version for Mac at the moment.
As for removing the vocals from a track; not possible unless you have the original master tape from the studio.

Not entirely true, Dizzy. In fact, you can do it with VDJ (you need the inverter function, which I think only works in the PC version).

You can also do this in Cubase (LE and up). You won't get perfect results, but you can get pretty darn close.
The theory:
By reversing the phase of the instrumental track, you cause destructive interference to the original. If the instrumental version is a perfect match in quality to the original song's instrumental track, and you've lined everything up correctly, you should end up with only vocals.
