Tópico: Midi Mixer Question........

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Sup Guys,

What inexpensive mixer is out there other than the Behringer ddm4000, all i need is to be able to midi the crossfader for videos.
I know the Behringer ddm4000 for some reason is not capable of doing this. I'm looking for something in the $600-$700 range.

Any advice will be appreciated.......

I thought the DDM could?

Anyway the Korg Zero4 and Ecler Nuo4 would probably be worth a look in that price bracket.

@ SBDJ

The korg looks good.......

@ Syber

That particular mixer is the new Nuo4 which doesn't have midi.

@ Reggie

Thanks but i'm looking for a 12" mixer to hook up my CDJ's and fit in my coffin (sorry i should of mention that).

@SBDJ or any Korg Zero4 user

Can the crossfader on the Korg Zero4 be midi mapped with no problems?

Thanks Again

Any other suggestions please let me know....

it IS possible to assign the crossfader of the ddm400 to midi with the crossfader of vdj. the problem is, if you choose the midi function for the crossfader, there is no analog audio function on the crossfader.

Yeah, and that's the problem....

Sorry, I was going by the Ecler website that said the Nuo4 has MIDI...

I've not used the Zero4 in conjunction with VDJ I'm afraid so I couldn't say how well it works. I do believe the mixer can operate in MIDI and Audio modes simultaneously which is what the DDM lacks.

Ecler Nuo 4 has midi, Nuo 4.0 not.

Correct me if I'm wrong.....

Does the korg zero 4 has a built in soundcard as well ?

Man, this mixer looks better and better every time i look at it........

Thanks Again

The Korg has a built in soundcard. Remember the connection to the PC is via Firewire rather than USB.
Currently I am using my channel 3 fader as a seperate video crossfader and one of the knobs to scroll through video effects. The nice thing about the Korg is that you can switch the MIDI on and off for each channel on the fly. For example, If I am using VDJ audio on channels 1&2, channels 3&4 are set to MIDI control of VDJ. Say I need to play audio on channel 3 or 4 I can turn the knob and put the channel's controls back to audio/MIDI or just audio to play another audio device. I also have the Denon HS5500 hooked up via MIDI as well. The mixer is really cool, lots of really cool effects and built in sampler. The only thing I reccomend is a seperate headphone amplifier. I don't think it is loud enough for club level mixing. Other than that, I really like the mixer. I also believe the price has come down significantly over the last few months too.

I see you have channel 3 for video, so can i midi map just the crossfader to the video without the known audio problem in other mixers?

I use Korg Nano Kontrol for $60. Volume can be assigned to sliders or knobs. Loops, kills, and other buttons can be assigned as well. A decent cheap portable way if you are NOT a scratcher. Please not that this particular product is a Midi device that is only used to control, no soundcard. Plugs in via USB. Setup is easy.
