No complaints here - my 700 works great. If I was buying today I might consider the 800 a bit more carefully, simply because it has separate faders when it comes time to replace and someone also said it has midi out which would be excellent now I know virtual dj doesnt have midi out capability (yet).
But then the 800 is getting towards the price of a Rane here which would probably be nicer - not sure if you can map everything for vdj on those though? Anyone running the rane with vdj?

Hi guys,DjPR1,i will never give up of vdj, because a really love this software :):):D,i´ll get the full version till the end of march for sure,,,just back to the question, disabling the crossfader in vdj´s confi » option, doesn´t make any difference, for example;imagine that everything is connected by the normal way,i´m talking about,1 sl1 sound card,2cd players and mixer(Midi Off),now if you load a song into cd1 player(channel1 on mixer) & cd2 Player(channel2 on mixer),this way you can cue each channel´s headphone, that means the faders on vdj´s mixer ch1 & ch2 are always up,even if the fader on the real mixer is all the way down you are able to ear whatever you want to,switch on cue ch1 listen to what comes from ch1,switch on cue ch2 listen to what comes from ch2,if you switch both cue at the same time, you can listen to both songs isn´t it?
with midi on when you move the fader all the way down on real mixer,it means that on vdj´s mixer the fader will be all the way down as well, and with the faders all the way down on vdj´s mixer, you cannot have sound coming from the real mixer,so you cannot pre listen, any advice?

You cannot turn off audio on this mixer - It will ALWAYS do the audio function whether you select that function to do MIDI or not. Thats what I mean by choosing things you wont use for audio to control the midi. For example you cant plug a cd into Channel 1 and then expect to control effects via midi with channel 1 because every time you move the fader to select an effect you will be adjusting the volume on cd1.

disable your crossfader from the VDJ options and now you can cue thru your headphones the normal way.

Hi BISH,djpr1 & Musicalcheers,thx for help,but the way you saying,doesn´t help me,just tryed it.
Disabling the crossfader in vdj´s confi » option, doesn´t make any difference,i already have it disabled, headphones works normal way when not in midi mode ,it means that vdj´s fader(level) are always up,till there i got no prob.....
My problem is::::with midi on when you move the fader all the way down on real mixer,it means that on vdj´s mixer the fader will be all the way down as well, and with the faders all the way down on vdj´s mixer, you cannot have sound coming from the real mixer,do you?

hmm you dont want to map your faders for audio. let the mixer do the audio job itself. Dont map anything on the mixer that you are using for audio, except the crossfader for video mixing.
Mensajes Sun 15 Mar 09 @ 6:07 pm
so you mean there is no way to do it?even if i buy the full version?i cannot cue headphone if i have my external mixer´s fader assigned to control vdj´s fader as well?so how can i mix video,or just have the plugin to fadetoblack?
.i think that the problem is because the main sound comes from vdj´s levels(Faders) and not from vdj´s gain,is there any way to config it?

You mix video by assigning the video crossfader to the crossfader on your mixer then the picture changes when you move the crossfader to the other channel. If you map the audio fader in vdj to your mixers fader then the picture would be darker if you had the slider down a bit - why would you want that?? You want the picture to be brightest all the time. Likewise why would you ever want a fade to black? Wouldnt you want it to fade into the other picture??
Think I'm missing something on what you are trying to achieve here...

As far as I can see the crossfader is required for the video transition plugins. I do not think there is a way to assign the up down faders for video only without it controlling the audio as well. I'm pretty sure all dj video software would require the crossfader for transitions. Anyone?

i dont want it to control only the video,i want it to control both as you said, but still having the headphones cue, thats what i mean bro

I think that would be impossible on any system. How can you turn the audio slider down and still expect noise to come out??? Its like having a cd player with a volume control plugged into your mixer, turning the volume on the cd player to 0, then expecting to hear anything on the mixer???

musicalcheers, that´s the point, you´re right bro, remeber when i said in one of the above topic(i think that the problem is because the main sound comes from vdj´s levels"Faders" and not from vdj´s gain).but if using cd player plugged into mixer, when the fader is down i can still have sound on the headphones, because it comes from gain. on vdj´s mixer it comes from fader, not from vdj´s gain,is there anyway to change it in vdj?i´m already happy because you know now what i mean, and thx again for tryng to help bro
