Try unplugging your laptop, see if you still have the sound when your running on batteries. If not its a ground loop.

Use this on the laptop or mixer, and all your problems go away.

On my laptop and hard drive i use a 99 cent 3 to 2 outlet adaptor. Works great. Everybody i know had the same problem. HAD being the key word.

It sounds like you have a ground loop problem. You can go to any car audio store and purchse ground loop isolators. Thats what i did and works wonders.

I had this problem till I invested in a 3 pack of 3 to 2 plugin adapters at local electronics store. It has since went away. I not trying to be cheap but if 2 usd solves it why spend a 100 dollars on it . Hope this helps
