I've ripped the music video intros but I'm wondering are they worth keeping? Do you ever play them? I can see if at a club gig and it's early or something; but other than that, are they worth keeping? Your opinion? If I could do a poll here, I would...

keep the intros and use cue points to jump past the intros.

I do not keep the intros, I can't think of a scenario where I would want to use them. I don't re-code my videos therefore the file sizes are large enough as it is. (.Vob) I don't want intros taking of hard drive space needlessly.

Depends on your style and the venue you play. I mainly play clubs in that case I need the intros. Every now and then I play pubs where intros aren't really needed so I just cue past them.
I'd rather have them then not. What happens if you move to a venue where you need them? You have to do all that work adding them back. I believe that would be a pain and a time consuming process. Hard drives are cheap these days..about 10 bucks per 100gig.

When I ripp promo only's the intros are on there own track eg track 4 is the intro 20 seconds and track 5 plays from the first beat so how would i ripp the entire thing inc the intro?

We are apparently not talking about the same type of intros. I'm referring to intros that are more often than not spoken dialog or something else non-musical or theatrical that would not be appropriate for a club or a "pub".
Charlie Wilson:
If you are using Promoonly DVD's than I'd suggest using this program (below) which will name your files automatically AND you can chose to combine files to include the intros if you are like JayMSY and have a use for them. I separate and DELETE them.

I occasionally use the Acting portions of the videos - but only with certain classic videos
Example: Twisted Sister - We're not gonna take it.
This old vid has a classic intro
Another one I let play through is: Dire Straits - Money For nothing.
But for most of them I use the cue point and jump past them. There's a reason these people are not actors.

Oh! Well in that case heck yeah zap em! I can't deal with those kind of intros! I played Beyonce "Get Me Bodied" off PO without screening it on a packed Tuesday night only to discover the nice spoken dialog in the middle of it! Talk about a floor killer!

I agree with DJ Marcel. There are a few videos that I have kept the intros. The rest of them never get ripped to my hard drives.

JayMSY you should check for the the "Break Warnings" that are listed on the Promoonly sleeves, this is the first thing I do when they arrive in the US mail. Then I edit the talking/car crashes/gunshots/toilets flushing/or any other garbarge they threw in with with Sony Vegas. Floor killers are not so much fun.

If the music video has any "noise" through out I will replace the whole audio track.
If it has an intro and breaks into a "clean" song I will leave the file as it is, a good intro can be useful as a transition tool.
I add intros and outros to songs where possible or when it's of benefit, for example house music.
Generally speaking I find that replacing a video audio track with a WAV or even a 320kbps MP3 file makes for much improved sound.
Standard music videos are not mastered for clubs but the TV.
