Tópico: Neddd help understanding video cards

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi All

I am about to make the jump ...videos ordered , hd installed ..now video card help is needed. My mother board has a PCIe x16 slot .

now, under the requirement to run video it reads "nVidia video card w/256Mb of Dedicated DDR3 memory (dual output capable)". Having said that it seems like most of the cards out now are ddr2

It seems that looking at the list below there are old ddr2 cards listed that work like the geforce 6 series cards

I was going to purchase this card but I am unsure if it will work. It is a 1gb ddr2.

I am not that computer literate but I would think as the card numbers get higher and new they will work better than the older card for example an geforce 9400gt with 1gb ddr2 would be better than a 8500gt 512ddr3

As you probably can tell i need some clarity in this issue to get this project moving along

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Ed
