I have a DJX750. I was playing around on it last nite. I went to transform scratch and snap!!!! I broke the line switch. People buy econo stuff for what Tayla said. I think when you make these purchases, u should buy the extended warranty for these items. Guitar center has the 3 year thing. I always get that. Whether it is expensive or not. If something happens its going back. Plus by that time i/you will have saved up some money to add with it to step up a little.

Whats up.
As it has been discussed in several threads, I ALWAYS have my little MP3 player hooked up and ready to go with several megamixes just in case.
Gives you some time to figure things out.

But you still need a mixer to plug the mp3 player into, don't you?

Not necessarily, you COULD y the master out rca's and add the ipod there so IF the mixer dies you still can play, You can ALSO use VDJ without a mixer if it dies (had to do this a few times in the past).

+1 at TAYLA...
Hi There
After 40 years of working as a DJ in the industry, I can only say that if it contains electronics it may go wrong. The only exception is possibly the speakers, yes they can all go wrong but it's very unlikely.
For mobile work I carry one I-Mac, and one Mac lap top pro, both loaded with music, one sound system with built in amps and one spare amp which if necessary (due to main amp going down) I can just run the tops and mids with the spare amp, sounds not so good but will get me through the gig. I use a Stanton Mixer, a Numark Total Pro Mixer unit and carry a small scratch two channel mixer as a spare just in case.
With a handful of CD's a twin CD player and the Macs I'm pretty well sorted to get through the night whatever happens, unless someone steals the whole lot and the transport before I start. I also have two or three different DJ software programmes loaded.
I learnt a valuable lesson on my first ever Gig when the amp went down, then it was just a couple of old decks and a crude mixer and amp, well it was 1968. Never again was I going to be able not to finish.
Truth is if you have the back up's it's likely that it will never happen, no back up and yes it's just a matter of time.
Hope this helps
Phil
