Mostly do weddings, parties, events up to 300 people, some small clubs.
Currently use Softjock, mixer, JBL Eons, wired & wireless mics and external HD with about 30,000 songs...Old school to current radio.
Do not scratch.
Would like to be able to mix better, and add karaoke.
Thought about Siglos karaoke program and VocoPro mixer that allows me do video, karaoke and dj and toggle back and forth, and have up to six mics for karaoke.
Would like to use midi and other karaoke files.
Like the ability to have history of karaoke people, and write greetings, etc. and stream over video on large portable monitor.
Need to be able to record audio for weddings...vows, toasts, etc.
Would like to be able to show video of weddings on big screen while playing.
Son, who is a club & radio dj, recommends serrato & tractor. can you compare for me?
I know this is simple stuff for you all, but for a new, 60 year old dj...love your advice.
Thanks.

the vocopro is a good do everything mixer , you will like

i haven't done karaoke in like 5 years and not at all with VDJ , but there are people here who do

one way to do karaoke is to have it as a separate standalone thing , with separate dedicated software , separate from the audio operation , if you do that , i would say get Traktor , as the audio software, it has the most refined recordcase out there , the best for anyone I think , but definitely so for mobil guys

at any rate many ways to proceed , so research it well b 4 shelling out mucho dinero

same thing applies to video , many ways to do it , at many price levels

VDJ might be a good choice for your operation , however I don't make any blanket endorsements of it

Our company does regular, video and karaoke all with VDJ. It actually works fantastically well for all 3. I think if you assemble your Karaoke collection properly on a good computer, you will very pleased with the results.

I do 4 Karaoke shows a week and ENJOY the flexability of VDJ for my karaoke needs as well as video needs. it's a great tool (take pics of singers, put their pic right up on the screen...plus a whole lot more!!!

I Highly Recommend VDJ...though the only other prog I have used was PCDJ before the video plugin....with the KJ standalone...which I no longer use....

With all the plugins VDJ offers you can customize any show you want to do....it takes some time learning all the ins and outs but I have some people that I work with that have switched to VDJ...I also enjoy the search engine with VDJ....you do not have to type in the whole song or artist...just type in a part of the song or artist..and the list is generated as you start typing...there is a problem with some zip files....I just open them on the desk top to use right then and there....

I currentky have over 150,000 karaoke files...really over 90,000 if you take out the doops...I have 2 (1tb) and 2 (640 gig) hds 1 for music...1 for vids, 2 for music......
I have been a faithful VDJ DJ for almost 2 years I think...always learning new stuff too....THANKS VDJ!!

I also use the vocopro 700 series mixer
