Hi all...im a dance club/bar dj..my system im running is:
-Laptop with vista
Virtual DJ 3.4 w/ hercules dj control mp3
-American Audio Dual Cd players with peavey system
Ok now how i have this hooked up is i have a "y" cable running from the audio on my laptop to a channel on the mixer...my problem is that through the mixer when im using the laptop i cannot preview the channels separately before playing...sure there is the headphone button which previews but it doesnt preview in my headphones, it previews through the PA system(even with the master volume for that channel at 0)...so my question is how can i get it so that i can preview a song on the laptop and play a song through the PA on the laptop without it interferring?? Is this a software issue or a hardware issue?? The only advice ive gotten is to find a program to code all my mp3's to play on one channel(ie 1) and then have the other channel to preview(ie channel 2)...if this is the best route can someone tell me the software to do this , and how, and if not if anyone has other ideas for solutions or possible solutions that would be great too.. thanx in advance

Do you have this set to internal mixer mode or headphones?

It might be an easier set up if you ran 2 rca from the Hercules 1/2 and 3/4 to the mixers 1 and 2 channel. Set your config to time external mixer.

not sure what u mean by that..what i think your saying is that i should run an rca cable from the hercules console to their own channel on the mixer...if thats the case i cant do that because the hercules console doesnt have any connections other than a usb connection that goes to the computer
