I have decided to convert all videos I have to mp4 (h264/AAC) format so I can use them both in iTunes smart playlists and VDJ.
I'm looking for an easy conversion program that will have this features:
- visual cropping with resolution resize correction (like Dr Divx has)
- automatic deinterlacing

I can achieve everything I need using several programs like Avidemux and Super but maybe there is a program that can do all those things in one step.
What do you use to convert videos these days?

I have tried Handbrake but it doesn't do visual cropping on Windows. Mac only.

Anyways I have some tagged .mp4 files but my VirtualVinyl doesn't read any meta data from it. Is this normal?
Why iTunes can read mp4 tags and VDJ cant?
 
 
I use TMPGenc 4 Express, one of the most usefull programs I ever bought, it does everything I need.
 
I found cool free program that does what I want. It's MediaCoder. Lots of options. I recommend it to everybody.
 
Well, after doing a lot of encodings I have to say that TMPGenc 4 Express is the best.
 
 
Agree with TMPGenc 4 Express. Awesome program.
 
For just converting files i use Media Converter. For encoding vob files as mp4 or mkv i use meGUI - It's freeware and does very good results.
