Tópico: Video Normalisation

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I know we've covered this subject many times before and i think without success, but has anyone ever come across a program that will batch normalise video files, ie, something like MP3Gain but that will handle avi, mpg, divx etc etc etc Such a tool would be very very useful.

No, but I really need a program like this too.

There should be a feature in VDJ to batch DB vids n mp3's

I disagree, I was always against VDJ having a ripper built in too, to me, VDJ should be a master of one trade, not a jack of all. But a video normalisation program that can batch normalise large quantities of videos from whatever format, (avi, mpeg, divx etc) would be a VERY useful tool.

So, do you disagree or agree? lol

Dosent VirtualDJ do a scan of your track when you first load it up and make an auto adjustment of the gain to 0dB ???
so no need to do a normalisation on your files...

also, if you re-process your files, you will certainly loose a certain amount of quality out of your recordings.

Taken from the MP3Gain website and worth quoting...

Algorithms such as what is used in MP3Gain do not just do peak normalization, as many normalizers do. Instead, they do some statistical analysis to determine how loud the file actually sounds to the human ear.

Also, the changes MP3Gain makes are completely lossless. There is no quality lost in the change because the program adjusts the mp3 file directly, without decoding and re-encoding.

The adjustment that VDJ does cannot compare to the job MP3Gain and AACGain can do. Why no-one has written a batch normalizing app for video using the MP3Gain algorithm is beyond me. I have been looking and begging for developers to do this since 2002! (I just did a google to see when my first posts on this subject took place) I tend to give up for a few years, look again, and repeat.

As for the MP4 Video Converter that others have pointed out, a quick look at their website does not have me holding my breath as to the quality of the app. Seems that the program re-encodes the video/audio track(s), which is not what we need. (Also, it looks as though it just does simple peak normalization, correct me if I am wrong)

For those users who are familiar with Sony Vegas:

Go to Tools -> Scripting -> Batch Render

I was exploring this task for my video catalogue, the only logical solution I had foreseen was to use Sony Vegas to process a batch of video files then render to the specific parameters set by the user.
The only drawback to this is user must be savvy in writing a script to execute this function. Please explore and let me have a feedback :)
