It still blows my mind that with all the initial problems associated with every release of windows why ANYBODY would be impatiently waiting to be the first guinea pig out of the box.....I for one NEVER get a windows update until at least SP1 is out and I really like to wait until sp2 is out before I feel confident it will work and work properly with all my programs, actually usually I even skin a version or two. I went from 95 to 2000 to XP (only got Vista on my lappy cause they forced it on me and said they have no XP drivers for it). I skipped 98, ScrewMe, NT, and what ever else "quick fix release" they had along the way.
I'll let you guys all try out 7 and find all the errors before I invest AGAIN.

I have been using the beta and now RC1 and can't be happier. Would never go back to Vista and well... XP is getting old :P

ive been using Win7 RC on my lappy for a while, using it now! I love it, not came across a single problem, using the 64bit version as well! Installed like a dream, automatically worked out what drivers i needed for everything, automatically picked up the wireless and has been working fine ever since.

Win7 is just a tuned up version of vista with a few extras so it will probaly be one of the best microsoft have ever brought out.
I myself got windows vista the day it was released and what aload of crap it was i ended up going back to xp and have been on xp ever since.
After testing win 7 myself i think it will be a great operating system from day 1 of release as for all the drivers i have just been using win vista drivers (except were companys have released win7 drivers) and they have worked great.

Something to think about. Dont update windows to what ever new comes out unless Your dj software requires you to use it. Use XP or Vista Only.....

Windows7 is hardly a 'tuned up version' of Vista.. And I have been running win7 on all my systems for the last four something months and never looked back

Same here. And SP2 killed my Vista installation. :-( Still using XP on the gig system though.

Well, I’m using win7 64bit and everything works great, except the hercules drivers for my djconsole mk2. It works fine as a soundcard, which windows detected it as one, but I can't get the hercules driver to install correctly (the latest one, by the way). The driver installer finishes the installation, but after that it doesn’t load, and gives me an error of some kind.
It could be the 64bit thing. I’ll just wait until win7 comes out officially and then maybe hercules with put out win7 compatible drivers, or maybe this will happen sooner. Who knows?

DJ laptops are supposed to be sacred. I am using XP and it works excellent. You cant get any better than that. Vista sucks. Even the Guy from microsoft told me that in person. When you update something that hasnt been tested for DJ use. You are asking for trouble.... Vista 32 is ok but i wont use 64. Windows XP gives the lowest latecity.

Has anyone ran VDJ/Cue off Win 7. I downloaded it on to my desktop PC I use for some studio work (ie Reason, Pro Tools, and Acid), b ut I have not gotten around to actually trying ot make those applications work. I have not had a long enough break to risk upgrading/installing a partition on my DJ Laptops.
Curious on the feedback. I too am VERY impressed with WIN7. I had VERY few issues, if you could even call them issues. I love it! The easy of use and speed to load is just head and shoulders above Vista and XP.

I've been using VDJ with Windows 7 since the W7 beta, and I can confirm that it works great! Because it's not the final product and still in 'Release Candidate' stage, I would obviously not use it during a gig, but for home use/practicing, it works extremely well. I've used both the 32-bit and the 64-bit variants, and both work great, and I couldn't be happier!
The only (minor) setback that I came to was that my RMX drivers would not install correctly a few months ago, so I had to manually add the drivers through the Device Manager, but that took a whopping 2 minutes, so I wouldn't even call that a setback. However, this was not a Windows problem, and if Hercules hasn't already corrected this, they will surely do so before Windows ships in October. I haven't had any compatibility issues except the RMX one, and I haven't had even one crash yet, either with the betas or with the RC (knock on wood).
