Does any know whether or not you can record video in VDJ6 running Vista? It still seems to be a codec problem that hasn't been fixed. I can get the older version to work in xp but I want to run it on my Vista machine.

I've tried the download and I'm still getting a Video codec not found error. Any help? I must be missing something.

download the mpeg4x codec,that should do it. After that go to config>codecs and add mpg4 codec and the appropriate decoder and that should do it.
 
Thanks you guys, it's working now. Now I can get version 6 with no worries.
 
Does it work for version 5.21 as well because it frustrating the shit out of me
 
Yeah I did get it to work on 5.2.1. It is frustrating but sooner or later it does work. Where I had the most problem was with the codecs section of config. I finally found the right codec (mpg4) and it worked.
 
Yeah, where do u find the codec for mpg4? I'm having trouble. I have windows media player 11, and am running the newest version (6) of VDJ. Can someone that has it working please post some screenshots of there settings?
 
 
In 5.2 go to the record section, then record movie, then config, then under the format section where it says codec, type in mpg4. That should work.
 
I forgot in my last post to tell you to download the codec first.
 
i install everything still dont work.. how do i fix it on the configuration of virtual dj ..

same here, i've installed the vista codec package and set the configuration to mpg4 to record video and still continue to get the VIDEO CODEC NOT FOUND.

I'll try to list step by step what I did to get it to work. I'm not the computer genius like some of the guys here, but I'll try my best. I'll undo what I did and start the process over. Give me a couple of days so I can post it.
 
okay, im a little confused on this codec thing. When we install codec packs, like K-Lite or this Vista Codec pack, i assume these are just codec for playback? or do they also pertain to recording codec...or is that a different install all together?
 
Did you download the codec that oqed posted?
 
i've installed both codec and followed the steps and still no luck.
