A file is a file so a mp3 will play on both Mac or Windows. But... are you shure they are in mp3 and not itunes mp4 which are protected and can not be transfered or used on more than one computer.

Yes, http://hem.bredband.net/catacombae/hfsx.html (only IF the drive is HFS(+) formatted, which is the standard MAC format). Otherwise, the drive is probably FAT(32) formatted, Windows will read that just fine.

When you are going to share an external hard disk with Mac based Computers and Windows based ones, you need to have those hard drives in a format that both can read. So FAT32 works for those 2. You have to be sure your 1TB hard disk is formated in FAT32. If it is not in FAT32, just format in FAT32 using windows PC.
Good Luck!
