Hello community,
I'm using the Hercules Dj Console RMX with Virtual DJ 6.0 . Since last week I'm building back up my studio, 'cause I've got more space for it. I work with my laptop and a external LCD screen. On the LCD Screen Virtual dj is running and in front of it ofcourse the RMX. On the laptop's keyboard I control my samples, loops and other shortcuts.
Rigth know, I'm thinking of buying the M-Audio UC33E to control my samples. My question is if anyone had experience with it and if it's also compatible to control some fx? The main question actually is, is it possible to use more USB hardware in Virtual Dj?? Beacause I have also my Hercules RMX, so does it work with eachother in VDJ?
(Example of the M-Audio UC33E: http://www.feedback.nl/?b=31210220&a=33 )
Waiting for you're answers!

You can use as many devices as your system will support :)

Ok. Great!!! The reason I doubt was because I also have a USB Mic, but that didn't work out quit well in VDJ, 'cause the RMX has it's own soundcard, but the Mic also has it's own soundcard.

Sound configuration is slightly different; you can use two cards but probably not in the way you'd like.

Well...I've posted this problem in the Virtual Dj Radio section, but no reply's to that question. I think you're right, and what I want is'nt possible in VDJ. When I connect my USB Mic and select record from Mixer + MIC...VDJ also streams the sounds coming from my microphone. Even when I'm not talking. So the listeners of my radio station could hear me breathe and type on the computer....very dissappointing but I guess I'll have to use other software for broadcasting...

Try using a USB mic with either a on/off switch, a push to talk button or noise cancelling. Otherwise it will be active all the time.
Alternatively, you could assign keyboard shortcuts to the action mic_volume to turn the mic volume up/down, e.g:
In VirtualDJ v6:
mic_volume 0%
...will mute the mic, and...
mic_volume 100%
...will enable it again (You may need to use a value less than 100% if too loud.)
In v5 and earlier, use a values of 0 and 4096 instead of 0% and 100%.

I cant get my mic to work. All I have is a usb sound card and my lap top. I have a wireless mic set and a reg old mic set. I plug the mic directly on the laptop and no sound thru the speakers. I also plugged the mic to the usb soundcard. (1 hole is for the headphone which works fine and 1 hole is for the mic..which doesnt work). does it work thru vd6? or do I have to change settings somewhere? Please help. if I dont check the forum, please email me at *********@*****.com
Sorry no email info from non license users, Brian
