A playlist request post on the "general discussion" forum made me wanna open this thread.
Let's all post our 5 favorite eighties (80's) DANCE tracks.
If this thread has enough participants after a few days i will review the posts and come up with the best 5 mentioned by most people, this could be useful to include in any set played for the over 30's crowd.
Useful too is to mention if your opinion comes from listening/dancin/dj'ing this music in the actaul eighties or if you are a younger fan/listener/dj, this way we can (if possible) have two different sets, one of real rememberance tunes and one of classics with appeal to young fans or newer dj's.
Doesnt matter if the tunes can or can't be played together as a set, and please don't trash previous responses, everyone it's entitled to their opinion and taste, so give some respect, just post your top 5.
Also only 80's please, i to love I WIll Survive but that is not eighties.
My top 5, i was an 80's dj in Mexico City:
(I was recently called obscure so please be kind)
Erasure - A Little Respect
Rick Astley - Together Forever
A-Ha - TAke On Me
Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax
AL Corley - Square Rooms
Sure to make your feet move.

Well here in L.A....pretty same thing. Freestyle was very popular over here too, like Stacy Q, Lime, Stevie B, TKA, Cover Girls, Expose, Trinere, Johnny O, SaFire, Sweet Sensations, Nocera, Connie, Noel, Trans X, Nu Shooz, etc. This was wildly popular in clubs and the mini-trucking/lowrider scene.

Depends on the crowd but I would say these would be amongst the most popular here overall for mobile gigs...
Proclaimers - 500 Miles
Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer
Bryan Adams - Summer Of 69
pretty much anything from Michael Jackson at the moment ;)

Loved freestyle, Cover Girls and Noel were my favorites, just got in the mood for some Show Me/Silent Morning mix.

You freestyle fans should head over to http://freestyle.fm My good friends Ted, and Raf's, web site dedicated to nothing but freestyle. It is the number one freestyle site on the planet, hands down.

So far Ton Loc and Salt N Pepa seem to be strong contenders for the final list.
For obvious reasons these days to play anything from MJ is also a sure bet... will see how far along the fad lasts... having said that Billie Jean properly preceeded by a strong track is always a good combination.
Just yesterday i mixed it after Boom Boom Pow and oh my god people raised the roof.

I couldnt really say a top 5 80s because where I live I get 80s requested so much the numbers 6-10 are just as worthy to be in the top 5! Here's my top 10 (in no order)...
Love Shack - B52's
Run to Paradise - Choirboys (Australian Band)
I Wanna Dance With Somebody - Whitney Houston
Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield
Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams
Uptown Girl - Billy Joel
Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC
Push It - Salt N Pepa
Funky Cold Medina - Tone Loc
Most 80s Michael Jackson
Persoanlly my own favourite is Bust A Move by Young MC but I if I play it the girls all leave the dancefloor and the guys get too crazy (myself included :-)

Question, can you download songs from the website as well? Sorry, I didn't want to hijack the thread either.
