Does anyone know if Hercules plans to make this with a sound card option?
Great demo Cioce.

150 USD for this?
for about 290 USD you can get the RMX, which has builtin soundcard + accepts inputs for CDJ/Turntables...
i really like how these non-soundcard versions have better lights, and the 'click' in the middle of the EQ is almost a MUST.
but, you know... i think it looks a bit tacky and i don't like the 4x2bank function keys. i'll take the RMX's 6 keys any day.
but if i had 8 buttons, i'd like that more!
why not make a version that uses TWO usb cables?
this way it could feature a builtin soundcard, but also have power for lights.
most DJs are not using a mouse or other things with their computer, and all laptops have at least 2 usb ports.
(well, except macbook air, but nobody bought those!)
maybe in 2010 we can have a new hercules, 3rd generation, with assignable KNOBS (for FX parameters), full lights, and built in sound card...
one can hope.

You don't need to wait to map anything you want (including FX) in any button. You just need VirtualDJ pro 6.0.2 to do it. This version is the lowest budget recommendable for a current Non License user. You can get the console and a working version of VirtualDJ LE for $120 usd or 100 euro (I been told it is in 90 Euro and less in some stores).
I don't think there is going to be one with soundcard included, RMX is the solution on this case. But I can't really be sure, maybe there is going to be a DJConsole MK3, who knows?. TO usbs,,, you can use some of those mini hard disk USB cables with a usb converter in the end to have those, but it is not a practical solution. This kind of controllers are very well design in terms of power consumption. Any USB port has to be able to deliver 500mA at least and 5Volts. This is a 2.5 Watts. So if you like to have many Leds on you controller, then you need an external power source to be directly plug into the wall and not in the laptop or PC. This is the main issue on why Hercules Controllers don't have that many leds on their designs. The avoid to use an external power supply and also give you the chance to use a soundcard also in the same USB Port (RMX or MK2 only).
Hercules DJConsole RMX sure is going to have click knobs in the near future I bet, also DJ Console Steel. I only want a plastic cover for the RMX or Steel because I don't use to often the carry case that come with it. I prefer to use a single carring case for all my laptop, hard disk and controller and cables, so it's better for me to have a cover for my controller. Hope this could be on future versions od RMX and Steel.
The main thing to have a controller without a soundcard, is the possibility to use a real high quality sound card. almost all all-in-one controllers don't have a high quality sound card in it, but good ones only. So if you are serious about sound quality, you will use another sound card that any of these (and other controllers) would have.
