Any problem with VDJ and Windows 7. I would like to get rid of Vista because it SUCKS!

VirtualDJ Pro 6.0.2 runs ok in Windows 7. You got to check if all your current devices (sound card, video card, midi controllers) run also in Windows 7. This is the real issue, not VirtualDJ that runs in 32 or 64 bits without problems.

On my laptop it runs flawlessly without any faults and wayyyy resource hugging free compared to vista. Trust me make the upgrade ASAP. I've been running Vdj lin ive situations for 2months now never failing on me yet. Today was the only time I got a crash but wasn't anything major because it recovered.

I've only ever had a a few issues running Vista. Here's what I do now and have been trouble free for ages on Vista Home Premium 32-bit for ages:
1. Have a seperate user account for DJing - That is if it is a multi use PC
2. Turn off all the Areo graphics or even go back to the "Windows Classic" theme
3. Turn of WiFi/Bluetooth (If you haven't got the track on the night, why bother risking a crash - we never used to be able to pull tracks out of the air back in the day...)
4. And most importantly use Game Booster from IOBit.com
I already used Smart Defrag from IOBit but Game Booster is the nuts. It shuts down all unnecessary processes that would usually hamper a gamer, but would also affect us DJ's. And all in a single most click!. Then at the end of the night one click again to restore. Well this last bit isn't necessary if you just shut down the lappy/PC as they all restart on reboot anyway...
I did have a few issues recently but they were all created by myself and I went live without sufficient testing of the changes. I had become so used to VDJ just working and being ultra reliable that I got complacent- yes and reliable on Vista!
As has been repeated on here many times. The OS and the Software work. It's down to your setup: what else you have installed, drivers, a defregged hard drive, and most importantly your device/console and VDJ settings...
What's the old saying "Bad workmen always blame their tools"... I'm not saying we're all bad, but unlike a mixer and CD player which are massed produced to be identical in every way (apart from the odd faulty bit of kit), PC's and laptops are all different. They may be identical when they leave the factory, but from your first use, you have peronalised that PC/Mac and need to be wary of the consequences of every change you make.
Cheers,
Roy

I'm having many troubles in using my multiple soundcard setup. In fact, only one physically works at a time, while the others work as "null sound driver". I'd like to use the DJ Console Mk2 for VDJ, while the integrated Realtek AC97 is much better for games and common applications such as Winamp...

Trying to work out why this is an issue. By default your sound card will be the AC97. Only VDJ needs to know that you want to use the Mk2 so set that up on your config.
The only thtime I've ever experienced this getting confused is when I have used VDJ without my live setup - my RMX - and it reverts to the internal sound card. Not experienecd that yet with v6.0.2 but always check at the start of a set.

I think I've almost got it. I denied to all the soundcards, except the DJC, the possibility to be used exclusively, while selecting the AC97 as default soundcard. This way I can now use VDJ without switching through the control panel.
Anyway, under WinXP I was still able to use all the cards (3 in total) at the same time, even in mixed WDM/ASIO mode.
A simple note: VDJ does not see any ASIO soundcard, but the DJC can still work as WDM even if the ASIO mode is selected in its control panel...
I have to get used to the new OS :D
