Ok, so I am finally ready for my first video mixing gig. I got plenty of video's, got my new HD, got a nice HDMI projector, and a large screen!

Here is my question

I have two video's loaded, on deck A and B. Just like with music, I want to cue up Deck B, so I can preview it, and beat match. When I press play for deck B, it moves the fader over about 15% and although the audio is muted, the video starts to show on the screen, using whatever random effect that is on.

When you cue up a song in your headphones for audio mixing, of course you cannot hear the song until you mix it in and use the crossfader. How do I accomplish this with video mixing. I dont want the audience to know what video I am playing next, when I have not mixed the audio portion in yet

Do you get what I mean? Hopefully I did not confuse anyone, and sorry if its a silly question, but I am still learning all the tricks!

Turn off the auto video crossfader function :)

That´s what i´ve been waiting for,a long time,Vdj Team got to make a plugin like DECK´S VIDEO FADER

i already asked for it,in Wishes and new features(http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/109291/Wishes_and_new_features/deck_s_video_fader.html)

may be Vdj Team think it´s not important to mix video,that´s why they already released 3 versions(6.0,6.0.1 and 6.0.2) after i ask,but they just don´t care :SSSS

I´m also waiting for this to buy vdj and to start mix videos live
 
you can link seperately, but you need to buy the software to get the skins to do it i'm afraid. so go buy the software and enjoy...

I can download skins - is there a skin that you recommend??
 
Dj4nse,

On the default skin, click the video tab (in the middle). Then, there is a lock near the crossfader that is probably lit up. Click it to 'un-light' it. That should solve your problem.
 
My question is where can I download good quality videos for free?

cannot really recommend a skin as there are quite a few good ones out there and it's all down to ones own taste and what is pleasing to your own eyes, originally i used to use the mixlab skin by format, but for a long while now i've been using cioces cue rmx skin and this week
i'll be moving over to dans blacksheep skin.

when i get the time i will be putting up a skin of my own design where hopefully one of the guys could do the coding for me, I really just need a basic skin with large vid windows minimal bells and whistles and lots of browser space would be my ideal skin.

(hope dan gets the hint,lol.)
