I had this same problem took me a whole day of research and deleteing itunes libarys but i finally figured it how and ill step through it step by step for you guys.

1. Open up your computer browser and search for your Itunes Music Libarary.lib and the genius files there should be about 5 files labeled. Itunes Music Library, Itunes Genius Update, etcc cut this files and delete the folders they existed in.

2. Locate your itunes default saving spot for your Music Library this should be in your user/music/Itunes.

3. Paste the folders into your user/music/Itunes and close the browser

4. Open up your itunes

5. Open Virtual DJ and your should be good to start mixing from your itunes playlists

On this same discussion thread I read that the music libraries with lib associated with it are viruses, are you saying they are not?

I'm reading this on this thread and I want to make certain I understand what you are saying, by default are you saying where the actual songs go: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music ? or C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Music\iTunes ?
Also, my library shows up like this: iTunes Music Library.itl , notice the itl distinction and not the lib as you mentioned in your first point. Is mine wrong?

Assuming you mean: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Music\iTunes

Thanks

anyone?

thanks, I did try this already. I'll make another pass at it

I Cant load my itunes songs?

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP??

Here\\\'s a new twist. Now everything is showing in VDJ, Itunes and the playlist on my itunes on the left. One of my playlist is music and this list has all my songs. I click on music, the songs show up in the middle section, I drag a song and nothing. So I right clicked on one of the songs, My Life by Mary J Blige and went to file information and noticed that the location of the song shown is not where the song is currently. Image to the top.

I did remove everything off my pc and restarted the daunting task of installing everything back. Once I got everything back on my PC I transferred my music folder, folder where all the songs download to once they are purchased, back to the newly downloaded iTunes. I also backed up my music again to the following location, image at the bottom.

What am I doing wrong that VDJ wont read where my current library is located? I mapped it out in the registry tool correctly.

Is there anyone that can assist?

By the looks of this picture both the iTunes Music Library.itl/xml and the iTunes Library.itl/xml files are both still sitting in the root folder. This may be the root cause of the problem.

I really appreciate you responding. So in which folder should those xml's and itl's be in?

They are in the right folder, you just need to remove the iTunes Library itl and xml file from the folder so there is no conflict between the different database files.

I did what you suggested and it didn't work. When I reopened iTunes everything was gone, what popped open was a new iTunes with none of my playlist.

So now, how do I get iTunes to recognize that iTunes Musics Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml are the correct database for both iTunes and VDJ?

Maybe this will help you a bit further. Here is a snapshot of my iTunes that works perfectly in VirtualDJ.

I truly appreciate you showing me your iTunes folder.

Here\\\'s what I did. I opened iTunes, created a new folder on my hard drive and moved the folders that you didn\\\'t have on yours but I had on mine to this folder then saved what you had listed in your folders into my folders, naming them the same.

What I noticed was 3 additional folders being created. See picture below with the lines next to the folders.

Frustrating to say the least.

It appears that now the 2 are connecting. The number of tracks in my iTunes match those in VDJ.

What's not coming across into VDJ is the artist name and BPM on all the tracks, a few came through. All my tracks in iTunes has a BPM associated with it. Any ideas? I did reload the iTunes in VDJ but the artist and bpm didn't come through.

Last thing, I converted some of the tracks from m4a to mp3 so all my tracks in iTunes are mp3. I noticed that some of the tracks in VDJ are giving me error messages when I try to load them to a deck and the error message is showing m4a and I open the file information in VDJ and it shows exactly where the track is located on my C drive but is showing the incorrect audio source, in my C drive is shows mp3 in VDJ it shows m4a, any ideas of how to get VDJ to read the correct audio source?

Sorry everyone, I know I'm being a pain in the butt, I have a gig tomorrow and I don't need any fubars

just 3 hours before my gig starts...........any suggestions?

I managed through the night but it wasn't pretty.

here's what I'm seeing in VDJ and what I'm seeing on my iTunes

Notice on VDJ the artist is not showing up but in my iTunes the artist is clearly there. Any thoughts on how I can get VDJ to show the artist names? The sounds are transferring over when I open VDJ from iTunes, got that working it's just the artist name not showing up in VDJ that is the mystery

Select all the file from iTunes in VirtualDJ, right click and select BATCH > RE-LOAD TAGs
