Had a big fight last night with my rane and serato equipment. My serato built in rane mixer craped on me andthe distubotor will not repair it for me. $1400 down the drain. Needless 2 say i threw it out my window on the way home from work. I just ordered the Numark ttx battle package and virtual Vinyl. Virtual dj never disrespected me over the fourms or over the phone. Im tired of the serato boys out there thinking that there the best because there poster boys for scratch live. Im offical a virtual fan for life and will stick with you guys thought out the good and bad.

and you are most welcome here ;)

Hopefully it will be a happy choice for you ;)

thanks man.

a side note, try get at least the direct drive battle pack from Numark.
The belt drive battle pack might disappoint you... belt drives arent good for scratching fast/advanced.

If you CAN fork up the money, check out tt-500 from numark or tt-x, instead of battlepack.
But the direct drive battle pack .. (1600 something name for decks) is ok

:)

thanks i just looked at it. Might go with that also. Got sum money 2 burn.

Thx man

This is why I'm still here after 3 years or lurking around.
The people here are cool. It's rare to see any sourness on this forum. :)

lol same story here..lol..sti.l sticking around after soo long ...never looked back ..lol one of the best decisions lol. welcome

Erm, let me get this straight...

1. Your mixer, which is manufactured by Rane, malfunctions.
2. The vendor who sold you the mixer refuses to repair it. Is warranty void?
3. You blame Serato, which is manufactured by Serato Audio Research.

Am I missing something here, or are you just barking at the wrong tree?

I don't have any need to defend Serato, but I fail to see how is it their fault if the vendor is being a dick.

Mixer was the TTM 57SL. I purchased it from a rane distrubator in New york City. Said it came with a 1 year service plan. I found this distrubator by calling rane directly. It went bad about 4 months later. Went back to the store they said they would not go by what they said. The dude who sold it to me was fired. They said call rane. Called rane said i have 2 go thru the store. So i got the run around. Went on the fourm and started too ask questions and got flamed. So im not hating on serato. Just the service that i got.

Sounds totally suspect to me Rane always has good support for their product. I had a problem with my TTM57 and it was taking care of asap!. Perhaps you called on the wrong day. It is not the distributors reponsibility to fix the mixer, you have to send it to the manufacturer after obtaining a RMA#. it is simple as that.

Now you say you threw a $1400 mixer out of the window I find that hard to believe. If you have money to throw around I will give you my paypal email so you can send me some money.

i called rane and they said the ram number i gave them was the wrong one. I am going to keep the serato mixer but im going to try the vumark sound card and see what i like better. I just droped it of to my local dj store and there going to fix it for me for free.

Sounds good i hope you get it fixed and all is well. I know when something breaks down that is critical to performing or making money its a hassle. keep us posted.

Rane is a very expensive and Great mixer. I hope the fix it right away..
