Tópico: Backup Ext HD?

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi VDJ Family...

I have a Western Digital Passport 400gb 2.5 external HD. I have a large portion of my music on it.
I also just purchased a Toshiba portable 500gb HD.

How in the world do I back up my music and stuff? I am going to copy the entire Western Digital HD over to the Toshiba but from then on, How do I back up only whats new or changed?

I add music or change something and may not remember where I added it so I want the backup software to be able to add or change anything that I added or changed without going through a whole boatload of music myself.

Can this be done?

I have always backed up by simply re-copying the entire HD. It takes many hours to do that. There has got to be a simpler way.

If I sound ignorant to backup software, it's because I am. I have never used the backup programs that come with HD's and I have always deleted them.

Now...I need to know how they work anf if I should use em.

Thanks....

City,

There are plenty of good file sync programs out there. I happen to use Easy File Sync 2.0 from www.easyfilesync.com.

I have two identical external HDD's, but my music is kept on my PC at home. I literally plug the HDD in to my PC, run the required job I have created and it will only copy the files that have either changed. It will also delete files that no longer exist if necessary.

Cheers,

Roy
