Tópico: Sample triggering with mini keyboard

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I have a question about sample triggering. When using a rmx/denon kind of midi device. Can the samples be triggered by another unit like a mini korg $49.99 keyboard? Using both at the same time? there are several units $49. kinds of midi devices.

Good question. I had asked this on another thread. Would be very interested in an answer to this.

Yes, you can use multiple MIDI controllers. If the controller is not already supported, you will need to map it yourself http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscript.html For a basic MIDI piano keyboard, the default Simple MIDI Wrapper should be sufficient.

You would map keys to sampler 1 play_stop, sampler 2 play_stop, etc.

NOTE: If the keyboard doesn't have its own built-in USB MIDI interface, you will also need a USB MIDI cable, or a sound card with built-in MIDI interface.

Thanks JP.

I got the cable and will be working on this. It will work great and will post info an a youtube video on how to do it. Its going to rule. I want to be able to set up 2 of them one for visualations and the other for samples.

i currently run a korg zero 4 via firewire for midi and a nano pad via usb for midi at the same time and have no problems with them at all and i def hit the buttons, knobs, sliders etc a lot.

verry cool,I thank you fpr posting it , All it does is give me ideas for building club setups. I know 20 grand for the big club is nothing for extras if I can build a out of control system , I will man it and charge massive dollars. Show me the money and I will show you the goods...
